oh look another [person] who doesn't understand MWO's customising system. nobody uses stock, that's obvious, so why do people believe urban mechs will be slowest on the field? now clan lights such as the adder and uller will have FIXED engines and on speed tweak will barely get over 100 wheras an urban mech jock will undoubtedly throw that std 60 out and throw in something bigger something that will deliver at least over 130kph.

now if you want to condem slow mechs as foolish and handicapping teams complain to the devs about CLAN lights! not urban mechs!

You have far more faith in the average pick up gamer than I do. I imagine most as chimpanzees with sticks flinging their own feces. (It helps with the disappointment often felt after a game) I just see a bunch of noobs in stock Urban mechs handicapping the team. They can implement the Urban mech so long as they change the name to troll mobile, deal?

Two things.

First: Anyone launching a BT Stock Build is handicapping the team, no one plays Stock. Why? Because MWO's heat management has broken most Stock builds making them completely unable to compete against any build customized with half a moment's thought (and there isn't a Stock Only queue.) Even way back in the beta, before the heat system was tuned to make DHS run hot (and as such a requirement) people took stock builds and took out weapons for heatsinks, armor and ammo.

So it must be a horrible thing to know that anyone not in a hero mech or champion is running a stock build that just doesn't even work in the system and is dead weight to the team. Oh wait, that's right, the Mech Lab is a thing that people actually use and other people bemoan what they do with it.

Second: The "Stock" Urbanmech can be recreated with some accuracy on a Spider-5K. So the build you are so concerned about ruining your games, being dead weight and generally creating the monkeys flinging poo experience already exists and has been run by players. Your game experience must be so horrible with this existing.

So your complaint about garbage players getting into an Urbanmech ruining your games is completely irrelevant as garbage players will be garbage no matter what they pilot. If someone would drop into a game with a Stock BT mech then they would do so with any Stock BT mech and would be dead weight regardless.

Now I know you didn't just compare any currently implemented chassis stock build to that of the Urban mech. Because that would be laughable.

and you considering that only stock statistics on mechs is available to play in MWO isn't laughable? of course stock urbie is laughable compared to stock jenner locust firestarter etc. however we play MWO, we don't use stock! urbie under the customisation scheme would easily be better than a locust and proberbly commando as well. proberbly not as good as jenner or firestarter but it wouldn't be that far behind with the speed, jumpjets, hardpoints and 360 torso twist. and if you see speed and lol then you haven't got it that we could use 150+ engines on urbie if it was in MWO, do get it out your head that we'd be stuck with slow deathtraps. if you can't then it's easy to see that you're simply lacking in imagination.

Noobs can handicap the team in a stock ANYTHING.

That has nothing to do with the Urbanmech.

At all.

What so ever.

Except, of course, that nobody's ever actually asked for a 100 foot, quad AC/20, 165 ton 'mech.

Whereas the Urbie has been a more or less standing request from as far back as 2011 (be sure to look at the number of likes that one post has)

Edit: A google search for "site:mwomercs.com urbanmech" returns 4600 results, that's how often it gets mentioned around here - usually because someone wishes it was in the game. Those numbers work out to about five times per day on average since 2011.

I didnt realise this was such a fan favorite. I see your point now. I stand firm in saying however, some ppl need to be able to take a joke.

They should of made a new one instead of changing the new years one, would of made a butt ton of money.

Still, for only 500 MC, it's not BAD looking. It's gold and shiney!

Well Shadowhawks, Ravens, Jaggermechs, and Victors are great chassis but we are talking about adding new chassis to the mix so please do try to keep up.

Yeah, my point was that I don't like to run the current meta and run weird, unpopular mechs with weird builds. The Urbie is right up my alley.

I would pay real big money for Deputy Dawg.

And I don't remotely care how "competitive" it is or if I get it shot out from underneath me every single match I drop in it.

It would be bliss!

The urban mech would work well as a light mech defense for bigger, slower mechs:
1. Even with an updated engine it wont be super fast (think 80-ish), and cant run away - would have to stick close to Atlas!
2. As it trudges along after the Atlas, it can use those JJ's to pop tart over the Atlas - surprise!!!
3. With a 360' degree torso rotate, it could easily track any light and then deliver something like an AC20 hit :)
4. If PGI does the size right, it should be shorter than a commando (but *ahem* big boned), thus a small target.

In short, the Urbie should be in the game and hang out with its big buddy the Atlas!

I mean, think about this thing with a Gauss on it. High-mounted hardpoints, real tiny, you aren't taking anything away from a scout mech.

Let me explain that last bit: in some of the examples above, people point out that you can run a Raven or Firestarter with a big gun and it's the same thing. It's not - those mechs are designed for scouting and skirmishing: if you run them as slower mechs with a big gun, you really are taking something away from them - they aren't designed for it.

The Urbanmech CAN'T move fast, so running a big gun on it is what it was designed for. Even with 3/3/3/3, you can still run a Firestarter, Raven, Commando, or Jenner as the second and third.

Give the Urbie 360 twist, ECM (because why not) and good module space. It can make a niche for itself. Also allow all urbie games.(because that is the natural order of things)

Along with some good maneuverability to counteract it's horrible speed, and you've got a different mech that some of would want to play. I've not spent any money on this game for about 6 months or so now, but if you put an urbie in, I'll buy 3. with cash.

Isn't the Clan "Warhorn" a sound effect thingy? Siren for the Police Urbie would be perfectly reasonable.
