Yeah, I actually favour an XL170 in my urbs for the extra weight, and balance of space.
Urbies are pretty XL safe overall.

Seriously, the difference in speed between a few engine ratings is barely noticeable unless you are in a foot race, in a straight line, across multiple grid squares.

I prefer a 180 engine (and full speed tweak)... most of the time. What can I say? I like to go fast. Well... as fast as an Urbie can go, anyway.

Type of engine doesn't matter so much to me as does how I'm managing my space. DHS, FF, and Endo on the same mech eat up a lot of room. LFF is a boon and somewhat changes the calculations, but I usually only run it on energy builds (or standard armor) due to need space for DHS.

There's definitely an argument to be made for a STD or LFE 170 over a 180. You're up 1 ton (after that HS buyback) at the expense of a few kph.

I'd question whether or not it's worth it to do an XL 170 over 180, though. If you really need that half ton... then I guess. Those 2 extra spaces probably mean I've run out of room on many of my XL builds though.

Then there's Street Cleaner with it's 210 engine cap: Hot Rod Urbie.

P.S. Of course, at the low end, a 100 LFE beats a 100 XL in all the ways that matter.

The XL100 is dead.
Being the LFE100 is the same tonnage.

Also, you use STD or LFF rather than FF, as the weight savings with an XL are so superior, and the urbs is very XL friendly.

I missed that the Street Sweeper had a 210 cap, interesting...

It can take more jumpjets too. Max both the engine and JJs and that thing can really fly.

I have a cool question for urbie cultists .

My lil bro and I argue about what engine we should fit an urbie with . He favours the engine that only gives urbie a speed of 91 km because he says that frees up a whole 1 ton to play with.

I on the other hand say , if you gonna blow 5 000 000 cbills and upgrade an engine might as well go the full monty and at least give urbie a 99 km or more speed .

What speed do you guys think is most optimum ? Thanks .

I like the LFE 170. The next upgrade is 2 tons, which is not really worth the 6 KMPH you get out of it. I usually put on a AC10 with my 2 extra tons, or with the rocket urbie 2 SRM6 and 2 ERMEDs. I usually get top damage in the game with it Posted Image

I run both xl 170's and 180's. Depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. The difference in speed is negligible. Especially if you have maxed out the survival tree.

Now the Street Cleaner is pretty nice with a xl 210 and max jump jets. You can get into some pretty interesting places and be a real pain in the enemy team's side.

Almost all my urbie builds center around the lfe170. Its more than fast enough and allows for survival after losing a torso. I use an xl for a couple of niche fits like dual er ppc but those are ranged and tend to not get heavily damaged till the end of the match so its not as much of a liability.

I'm going to have to try this. Thanks for the info.

Same, except for the demo can. LFE 100, ac20, and a small lazor. Able to keep up with Annihilators and King Crabs lol

Heh.

I run 3ERML and an LRM15A, for reference. Hit 'em with the lasers at a reasonable range, get a lock while holding the burn, add on the LRM as I'm ducking back into cover. It's fun :)

I bought a 68 to do the LRM challenge, and I didn’t realize it would be so much fun to go so slow!
LRM10, LRM5 and 2 medium lasers, no upgrades except I just bought a LFE100 and that’s plenty.

I run an XL170 (I think), and yeah, going under 100kph in a light is kind of a neat experience isn't it?

Try doing multiple consecutive drops in a stock urbie and then switch to a max speed lolcust... you'll suddenly find yourself unable to drive lol...

My potato rig accomplishes that quite well on it's own, thanks :P

And yeah for sure :)

Alrighty guys, it was a 2000k+ day and 120+ hour of fighting for Lady Arano (and not a single urbie the whole time, i'm quite mad), i hope QP is still populated here, my Urbies need a good stroll.

Disgusted by new menu screen and logo, but hey, it's still MWO even if kids version. It have Urbies though...

P.S. QP is alive, good! Hope very much CW will be great again soon ™.

Welcome back to FunVille :)

I know where Incoming Missile stands, ( ;) ) buy I'm interested in who else has a missile build they like for the Urbie '68?

I'm starting off with 2xMRM10 and 3ML, but I'm not sure I'm sold on it yet. I haven't run it enough yet to think I've got conclusive data yet.

Anybody got a SRM/Streak/other-MRM build they like on it?
