Am I Missing Something?

Even from an empty mech this is the case, armor bar at the bottom says 0 with a grey bar.
I tried dragging off the upgrades to "reset" the armor but I can't, am a little frustrated with this.
I have checked out the guides and I can't see where I going wrong.
Any help for a frustrated newbie?

You're saying even when you've stripped all the armor off the mech, you can't increase it?
Edit: Remember that while you may have say 80 pts of armor for your Right Torso, that's 80 points front AND back. So if you have 14 points on the back, the max you can have on the front is 66.

That would help diagnose the problem better. Maybe Koniving could understand better. Have you tried rebooting the game?

Also, welcome to MW:O! Any questions you have, ask them here and I can answer!
This link contains some mean (but expensive) Mech builds (cadet bonus C-Bills are good for this thread
And if you don't want to waste time scrolling around on Smurfy or in the game trying to find weapon info, this is a list with Pros and Cons of every weapon, upgrade, module, and equipment piece in MW:O!

You can see the greyed out up/down buttons.
Will submit a support ticket as I have no item/mech images anymore after the new patch (armour wasn't working on prev version yesterday).
Have used the fixer utility, and then did a fresh install to another directory, no joy.
Any ideas?

I saw this happen when I tried equipping an Upgrade, like Endo Steel, without enough Cbills to actually buy it. It let me build the mech, but armor values could only be lowered. Note that the equipment list includes the number of owned items, and the UI should ask when you first try to add something new.
Since you are just starting, you need to play some matches with the trial mechs and whatever came stock with your Firebrand or other mechs you bought for MC. You will quickly earn Cbills during the first 25 matches, so you should have no trouble upgrading your mechs.

An interesting thought - and one I had not considered (as if that would/could/should remove it from consideration
But, he has no debt listed - no armor equipped - but enough Cbills to buy at least some armor - so I doubt it's that.

Well the full events were, after I bought the Firebrand it was already loaded out with armour of course,
the first thing I did exploring the mechlab interface was to click the down armour arrows, I realised the armour would remove but the "up" button stayed greyed which I thought was odd.
After realising my armour had gone MIA I stripped the Firebrand, then added everything back again except I still couldn't add the armour.
I left it thinking I would work it out later, downloaded the new patch, and now the images are gone, also I have random "available" Items that I haven't purchased but are marked as available (tho are not of course).
There is a reference to the "No image" patch problem in the Patch feedback section in the forum but I cant post because im a noob...lol
Ah well, thanks guys, will see what support says, frustrating as tho, Hawken gave me the urge to play a proper mech sim (I flight/race sim Primarily), MechWarrior online looks the goods.
Thanks again.

I had that problem once before.
It fixed itself by itself.
File a ticket nonetheless.

I joined a game using the Firebrand without armour. Then exited (I didn't realise I would be still in the game, apologies guys).
When the match was over I was able to allocate armour to my mech!
Still no images tho but it seems a common problem so shouldn't take long for a fix.
Main thing is I'm ready to get stompy!
Thanks again to all.

iirc it's around 17 million! With premium time, you'd barely have enough for an Atlas K iirc. And with hero mech you'd have around enough for an Awesome 9M. So both together is capable of fully outfitting an Atlas K!

Luxebo is on the mark there.
Just regular cadet bonus with no hero or premium is about 9-11 Mil. C-Bills. (made about 9.6 myself and I'm pretty sure I didn't deal more than 50 damage until around my 10th game. Stock COM-2D trial FTW.)
With Hero and no premium it's about 12-15 Mil. (Maybe 16)
With both hero and premium it is about 15-18 Mil.
