I went to the shop and realized something. All the iconic mechs and the jack of all trades are in the shop. But then, I remembered that: houses don't share their flagship mechs to everyone. Who is selling us these awesome mechs? Who has acess to all of the house's finest? Some of these mechs had their factories captured or destroyed by the clans at this time, and replacement factories have not been finished also. Is the shop some mega catalogue where you order mechs? It's the revamp of battle tech kept to the letter to be realistic and for the fans, except everything we have in whole a game that makes no sense with the timeline.

The mechs, they just appear in your drop ship, which seems to be completely empty except for you. Who runs "your ship"? Is it even yours? Do you work alone in a gazelle dropship ment for a crew, not an autonomous invisible crew(no sign of AIs either....) Now, what kind of shop would have infinite mechs I ask? In other games, planets you visited only had so many mechs at a time. Are we buying off the black market or something? The shop also has as many guns as you want. At this point in time, all pulse and advanced weapons(ultras, advanced electronics etc) are in short supply, and are being sent to the front lines to upgrade mechs. I mean, even the obscenely rich house Steiner is cannabalizing their tanks to get advanced electronics and weapons. If everyone could buy from a store like this (the god store anyone?) the war would be over in hours.

The store is cool but just does not seem logical.....except the game seems to have nothing In Common with the supposed time line. I suppose it makes sense.......but still, it seems fishy....

I wonder where all our C-Bills go.... What would somebody do with all the C-Bills we spend on mechs? Do you know what that could fund?(besides the point the shop owns an army....) who could we be funding....

No, it couldn't be...are we buying things from the clans!?! I mean, where else would you get so many mechs? Of a battlefield and in the warehouses captured by the clans! That atlas I had could have been in a Lryan scouting lance, and then killed, and then refitted with other salvage and sent to me! Holy cr*p, that could mean the clans are killing heroes, taking their mechs, copying them and selling them for extra money! Oh no....maybe there aren't any urban mechs because they are the last line of defense! Maybe they don't sell prototypes and stealth mechs because none have been captured! Which hero could be next!?!

*WARNING, INCOMING MECH. CLASS: Maurauder..,,no Catapult.....no....MADCAT. WARNING INCOMING MISSLE
Holy shit they're coming....I found their secret plot and they want to silence me! NNNOOOOOO *grabs BA assault rifle
You'll never take me alive clannies! Die!!!

This is the new star legue, there is no evidence suggesting that the clans are selling salvage for profit. This is an official statement. This is a conspiracy based on speculation. No Timber wolves have been seen in this sector.-The Star Legue Council.

Sometimes its the devil in the details that kill you!
A Capellan should not be running around in a House Steiner build-S.
As a Lyran I should not be sporting -K Model... Unless I am on the Kurita boarder.
House Marik is capitalist central and will sell its Captain-General to make a C-Bill.

But you get the point.

I personally don't have a -M, -L or -K Mech in my dropship... Cause they are not available to my House at this time.

Faction specific bonuses and price adjustments are a planned feature.

Not really necessary in the current non-faction-specific match-based brawl, but planned as part of CW. you'll be able to capture resources and territory to influence the cost of production. (most likely all mechs will still be avail to all customers, but c-bill prices will change to reflect faction and currently held resources)

E-sports have no need of fluff.
Fluff confuses new players who can't read or won't due to ADHS issues.
BT is only the IP bait used to lure the unsuspecting to buy E-sport MC.
Logical IP segregation of mechs between IS factions and the Clans earns no money for the E-sport and is thus irrelevant.
Individual thought and expectations are discouraged.
PGI-Jedi mind trick tells you this is not the content you are looking for. Buy the hero mechs and clan packs, ask no questions.

God I wish this were important. It could be. Could be a cool spreadsheet warrior things with the prices of Mechs and weapons going up and down depending on supply and demand, (repair and rearm) distance from manufacturer, Units owning dropships and renting them, travel times...

Oh well, lets complain about the meta and Lurms and the MM and the UI instead. Get along little sloth devs, get along...

Well, I guess other things are more important, but then, this is SUPPOSED to be the rebirth of battle tech in the modern age. That's what they said anyway.....

Most BattleTech games don't really worry about logistics and the cost of doing war. My players had a quick wake up when they wanted to have a long running campaign and I crunched out Supply record sheets using Excel. and TO&E logistics that tracked monthly unit upkeep.

Did I mention the down time I have when My CnC work station is running?!?

The old leagues used to have FULL Logistics and it was fun as hell. A good Logistician is the key though...

CW should, is hoped to, be like those Leagues were.

Curse you lazy Devs! Get your goddamn logistics on, because that's all your stupid books are about any way! All hail logistics! Battletech is full strategy, wars don't happen without supplies, logistics and shit that makes sense now does it. Don't these Devs ever listen to the community?

We want an urban mech-they give us an April fools mech. We want community warfare-they give us a vague statement saying it's coming. We wanted a lot of stuff, and I don't see any of them.

While I don't believe that the logistical spreadsheets are needed in MWO, the immersion that the OP is speaking of IS. Every single previous MW title had immersion coming out its pores. While the mechbay is good, they need to somehow emphasize that we exist within a context. Right now that context is a garage themed Amazon shopping window. Where are the mech technicians walking in the background? Where are the faction logos? Where exactly IS my mechbay... on a planet? In a jump ship?

After they get Community Warfare out the door, immersion through the whole experience, in-cockpit and out, is the highest priority on my list. I play MWO for the fantasy of existing in the MW/BT universe, and these details are important.

I will never forget booting up MW2 for the first time and navigating through the mech holograms and briefing areas and such. I went back and watched some let's-plays of it a few months ago - it's not just my memory painting things rose colors, it actually WAS awesome. PGI needs that awesome, first in-game and then in-GUI.

Get me a mech technician! Now, soldier! I want this scrap heap refitted and ready to melt Davions before the Major finishes his coffee!

Would be cool if we had an avatar that could walk around the mechbay. You could walk upto a console and check out mech loadouts and such.

*edit*
Something simular to EVE's pilot lounge

This would be the ideal solution. However, if they didn't want to expend as much effort they could do something similar to the MW2 interface (a more modern example would be the StarCraft 2 inter-mission setting).
