Man....why do I keep reading these useless threads? I think I have a sickness, maybe a fetish.....for terrible threads that only complain about how the game is not addressing THEIR needs and their idea of what is good game play.

I wonder if there is a 12 step program for this? If so, at least I have finished step one....admitting I have a problem....

As with most of these Re-PETE (i know) threads, I just come in to see what this guy is going to bring new to the table. Its never anything new, and why he hasn't seen (sure he has), the other threads about the same TOPIC. He felt he to have his voice heard, Name in LIGHTS!! So I'm help him along in my own little way by keeping his post up top.

You shouldn't move from cover to cover in view of the enemy unless it's a really short distance, like between 2 buildings. It's something it took me a long time to learn. If possible, back away for a couple hundred meters, locate a path that covers you the entire way towards your intended destination, and then move toward the next piece of cover you wanted to use. You make a kind of "U" shaped maneuver. Yeah, the shortest-distance between two points is a straight line, but that doesn't mean you should use it.

It seriously baffles me that more people don't seem to realize this.
Movement in this game is extremely important. Not only do you have to think about where you want to be, you have to consider the best possible route - not simply the quickest route.

nope..from camp warriors i mean...just stick back almost all match till a mistake is made by some player (yours or theirs) and then fall back to your turret cover and wait their so enemies can come in to kill you...while all the time raining lrms on each other and staying behind a rock/building....

i hope i cleared it?

I'd suggest playing Conquest or Skirmish instead. The turrets on Assault have limited game play much more than improved LRM boats have. Most of the maps are so small that there's only one path that isn't exposed to turrets. That limits flanking opportunities.

The major consequence of being brought up in a "Everyone is a winner!" environment is that one thinks of himself/herself as a very special snowflake above all else.

To the OP, here is a tip or two. Find a nice rock, sit behind it for abit. Do not rush, let the impatient "teammeats' die. Use your team! Watch the flow of battle. This game is all about letting the other guy die first. Excuse me...I got to go cry.

QFT +1

It's functional understanding of combat maneuvering to either gain advantage or avoid a situation that poses a disadvantage... And "yes" very few people grasp this concept.

I blame all FPS preceding MW:O...

For some strange reason players seem to presume "big stompy robots" means you can wander around with impunity and not expect to get your arse handed to you. :)

Big stompy robots need to utilize cover and concealment and to take evasive maneuvers and to exercise tactical maneuvering as much as any bare-arse grunt in the mud... IMHO, even more so considering the relative size disparity.

Your right sir, but these "Threads" generally shut down the OP, then turn into a fun fest. Putting all his QQ to rest and making him wonder why? WHY for the love of sweet baby ( your god here) he just didnt post in one of the other 100 threads. <AMEN>

FYI... We wore Cammys when being shot at in the mud!
