No way!!!! You mean I can play a game mode that doesn't work well for people who want to sit in one spot the whole game?!?!?!

You mean there's literally dozens if not hundreds of tactics, builds, alternatives, examples, strategies, mechs, etc. that can counter that?!?!?!?

If only there was some place where centralized information like that could be found.....
like the forums maybe?

If only there were other players willing to post that kind of information in that centralized place.....
like this or the other 34658932407 threads about this maybe?

I think someone should build like a forum and write this stuff down......

OP (and the others like you), seriously, learn to alter your tactics and adapt. It's not really that hard to do. I don't care if it's poptarts, lurm boats, pew pew pews, scouts, spiders, etc. There's always a valid way to counter that.

I am sick and f'ing tired of watching people complain about a tactic
then
receiving literally dozens of ways to counter that
then
basically saying "I don't want to do that because I want to play in one niche manner and not alter that pattern and manner in any way, shape, or form. I want to play in the specific manner I want for all scenarios and situations"

This is a war game. This is a strategic game. You will NEVER find one tactic that works every single time against every single thing. When you play like that you WILL die
a lot
repeatedly

Improvise, adapt, and overcome. It's really that simple. If you are losing
a lot
repeatedly

STOP
Asking devs to nerf something
Asking the devs to "fix" something
Blaming other players' tactics
Blaming your team
Blaming "cheese" builds

START
Learning to play in a different manner
Adapting your strategies and builds to counter certain things
Having more than one type of build in your hangar

No the "Well it can't be beat" argument is not valid. There are hundreds if not THOUSANDS of players that counter and beat those tactics, builds, strategies, etc. EVERY DAY. It's really that plain and simple.

STOP ASKING PGI TO CATER TO A PLAYER'S INABILITY TO BEAT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING

No, I'm just tired of seeing the same exact thread over and over again. You have a section of players that seem to think the game should be nerfed, buffed, "fixed", etc. based solely on how they want to play the game. I'm tired of watching this game get dumbed down on a consistent basis to cater to those that can't seem to beat something as simple as lrms.

Obviously if you are seeing the same thing over and over again, then it is a problem. If you are tired of it you should leave the forum sitpit.

I use LRMS a lot. A LOT! They were too slow, then too fast, now they are ok. I don't use AMS and don't get LRM'd to death at any missile speed so learn some tactics OP.

My take on LRMS - Most players fall back when the words incoming missile are on the screen. This removes them from battle with no need to hit them. I can keep the enemy pinned in cover removing them from battle, force them to pop tart getting hammered on each pop, I can help my teammates from afar, stand still with your EMC on and I got you too, and I can try and force a retreat when they try and flank for starters.

The words incoming missile demand action, it could be 2 wimpy streaks or LRMS300+ if the enemy team locked on to you. Do you look around and see what it is or do you take cover? I bet you take cover.

LRMS are useful at any level when used as a tool 1st and a weapon 2nd.

Except it was an issue, still not too sure about the game in it's current state. Before the last patch LRM's were so messed up it was a serious issue. Firing without stable lock would still net damage. The LRMs were fine before if used as a support weapon and in tandem with a team. After that patch they were ridiculous. I did 1200 damage in a round without a spotter with them without even trying after being ripped up in a shadow hawk by them while hugging walls. 15 M/S doesn't seem like it would have corrected all the issues.

It seemed PGI wanted to make the LRMs nearly as useful as direct fire weapons despite having the advantage of indirect fire support. It broke the weapon.

I have no problems with the current state of the LRM's. I use only lights with no AMS.Yeah...that's right.
No AMS and i stay away from friendly groups so they rarelly help shot down LRM that come for me.
I just make certain i got high cover nearby at all times to protect myself from LRM's. That's enough to deal with LRM's most of the time.

As for how mechs too slow to get into high cover fast enough should deal with it-
-Stay in ECM cover or stay close to other mechs with AMS.
The bigger mechs almost always have room/tonnage for an AMS and a tonn or two of ammo.

You don't see, that that's what people like Mustrum, Docbach, Deathlike and about a billion other people have been trying to accomplish for years now?

And in the end, the problem isn't the players who ask for these things, as we as players have no way to actually change the game.

The problem is the dev (Paul) who listens to these types of people.

No, here is there is problem as "I" see it. As with many games, they just over do it.

So they Buffed LRMS, and NARC. Both. But hit the "Meta" builds which I think the LRMs were meant to counter, Victor/Highlander.

Along with that the week prior to the LRM "Buff" the Stalker Trial that everyone could use which was loaded with 2xlrm15s and 2xlrm10s was free to run.

1. So everyone new guy and not so new guy has been running this LRM Stalker.

2. Victor / Highlander, with the JJ nerfs and torso twists nerfs combined with.........

3. Narc buff and LRM speed increase.

In closing, it was to much at one time and a perfect storm. PGI should have taken baby steps and just adjusted one parameter at a time instead of EVERYTHING in a matter 2 weeks or so. Again, Just mho.

People seem have a gross misconception of what a "support" weapon is capable of.
