Kinda aggravated that Russ said they might offer the new variants for MC only the first week.

Yeah I'd love to know the hitboxes for that mech. They all look massive.

Wondering if the side torso missile launchers have the same quirk at the Hunchback where only a tiny sliver in the back counts as rear armor making front ST armor hitable from any angle.

Found it on reddit, nevermind...

Yeah, some of those look...interesting...the new shadow hawks will surely be popular...the new thunderbolt might draw me into getting it...just wish it had JJs. Have to look at the new battlemasters though...I have the ones in my stable kitted out about the way I would want...have to see what I can do with the new ones if it is worth picking them up.

Yeah the guns are a bit smaller, and the legs are a bit fatter than expected.

I would be in Heaven if they released a Dragon 5K-DC. Despite the Dragon's flaws, it is still one of my favorite mechs.

yes. Because we need even MORE assault mechs hiding in the rear launching LRMS.

None of those new variants excite me, sadly. It's a pity the TBolt with ECM isn't amongst them.

Yeah, I might have even bought that one for MC day it comes out. But alas, it's probably never coming ;)

A good way to guesstimate if its due to perspective. This probably underestimates relative size of leg though

Patch notes were already leaked on Reddit. We're getting two new Battlemasters, two new Locusts, two new Shadowhawks, and a new Thunderbolt.

They're basically just finishing the Phoenix pack.

edit: nevermind

Soooo no SRM fixes listed in those notes. No reason to play.

Morrowind and Dark Souls for another two weeks! Oh, and some Super Street Fighter IV Arcade edition... online, of course.

Well, some of the PP pack "updates" (although, I guess PP owners will benefit from using the Hotrod camo on these if they want) are "not bad".

Shadowhawk-2D will likely be popular over the 2H dakka mech (3 energy hardpoints total on the arms will make for something interesting). I'm unsure of the utility of the Shadowhawk-2K but torso energy would allow PPCs to be fielded in a more protected state. Also, the missile hardpoints are unified, which allows for a decent SRM/LRM platform. It won't have the missile capability, arm articulation, and torso twist of the Griffin, but there is a lot more you can do.

The Tbolt gets a 6E, 2B mech (9S), which is immediately superior to the the 5S IMO because you can "do more" with multiple energy hardpoints (think 5SS) while keeping the dakka arm.

The Lolcust gets a more "viable" missile boat over the odd 3S, although while the hardpoints are lacking, it is more "usable" by design. It's still a Lolcust though. The 1E is a superset of the "popular" 3M, but fielding something like a 6 medium Jenner-F is a hidden hilarity.

I don't know what to make of the Battlemaster though outside of the fact that I think some of the additions are superior to the Phoenix variant Battlemaster (3M vs the Phoenix variant 1G) and the other battlemaster kinda mirrors the Banshee with better "missile" options (torso energy allows for the arms for use as shields).

All in all, if you liked your PP mechs, these additions would have been better than the Phoenix variant... which is an "overall upgrade".

I'm not. If anything, I'm almost suggesting that whoever bought the PP packs got "conned" because these variants are BETTER than what they bought.

Now that I think about it a little more, given where the dakka torso's hardpoint is placed, the Shadowhawk-2K could arguably be better than popular Shadowhawk-5M...

We'll see.
