there isn't much to think about. Overlord came along with 90 days of premium time (worth about 7,500mc), 12 mechbays (worth 300mc each, or 3,600 total) and 4 mechs that give you c-bills 30% faster when you play them, with 8 other regular mechs (worth somewhere in excess of 36,000mc, conservatively). I won't even count the other, useless (but still worth MC) things that came with overlord, and I'm still looking at an excess of 47,100MC worth, which doesn't count the 30% c-bill boosts I will get when I use those 4 mechs, until the day I stop playing this game. $200 will get you 50,000MC. I paid $100. Compare that to paying $20 for an XL engine, and a double heat sinks upgrade. The return on the investment isn't even a comparison.
Sure, PGI burned us a bit after we bought Overlord. That's exactly why I haven't bought a clan package. But you can't compare buying the Phoenix Package to buying 6mil c-bills for $20. I'll just play my Battlemaster and Shadowhawk and earn the 6mil every few days simply by enjoying playing the game.

Quite a vehement defense there dude. It was not said it was a bad deal, just that some who did not buy would see it otherwise. Same as the C-bill packs. sheesh...

Thing is a new player, after 25 games, imho, has not earned the right to play a decked out Atlas.

But... but... if we don't have newbies piloting decked out Atlases, then who are we going to ROFLstomp with our LURMboats?!? ;)

It's usually in 90 day cycles.

Is that a period, CW, or CW period?

vehement? Don't be melodramatic, it was an explanation. And it was in response to the insinuation that I was a moron for buying the overlord package, not that someone might see it as a bad deal. Sheesh?

GW2's cash shop is so superior to MWO's that it's actually pretty insulting to even do the comparison.

I bought an Awesome 8V on my alt account with the 10.2 million C-Bills I made with my 25 matches and made it an LRM boat to roflstomp. ;)

I have absolutely no intention of buying CBills with MC, probably ever. But its not because I don't think its right, there's a good reason for it to exist.

The problem is that the amount of CBills is way off! I see it was explained that its the amount you could get from selling a mech plus a bit extra. But that is ridiculously stupid, because what if you buy the CBills using MC then want to use those CBills to help purchase a mech or few? Guess what, you're getting SCROOGED!

Devs, do the smart thing and make the CBills from MC based on the PURCHASE PRICE of a mech, not the trickster car salesman price.

I believe it is buyer beware... especially since you can use your MC to just buy the 'mechs directly. If you buy MC to buy C-bills to buy 'mechs you may be doing it wrong.

I suppose someone might have decided how many c-bills he had was the determinant for his 'win' condition, but it feels a bit off to me.

New Bundles:

- Small C-Bill Bundle: 1,100,000 C-Bills for 800 MC
- Medium C-Bills Bundle: 2,400,000 C-Bills for 1600 MC
- Large C-Bills Bundle: 6,500,000 C-Bills for 4000 MC

So apparently we can now buy C-Bills for MC.

My opinion: mixed feelings.

On the one hand it seems like the beginning of P2W, on the other this was possible with buying/selling Hero 'Mechs already before.

What do you think?

4,125 MC will buy you a 10Mil C-bill Mech 4,000 MC will only get me 65% of that C-bill amount??? :D ;)

The argument, and it's a silly one, is "But if you bought Mech (x) and sold it for Cbills, you would get (Y) Cbills back, and we're trying to give you a better deal"

When what it SHOULD be is. MC has (X) value in Cbills, and have it be a direct conversion, and leave it to you to decide if you want to spend your Cbills on a mech, engine and weapons or blow it all on modules.

You should be getting the same value for Cbills for MC across the board, whether you're buying Cbills, a Hero/Champion or whatever. The message they're sending is MC is more valuable if you by and use a Hero/Champion mech, but if you want to spend your Cbills your way, we're going to have to tax you with a bad conversion rate.

Owning a 'mech devalues it immediately!

If they would actually revamp their premium economy it would be great. They're pricing on the bundles (much like most of the other stuff in the game) just doesn't offer that great of a value. You can actually buy certain mechs that come with an XL engine and make more money than you would from the bundle. Other than that, this has been needed for a long time.

I'm all for companies making money, but make me WANT to spend the money, not HAVE to spend the money.
This is the long and short of what I have been saying in all of those threads asking for c-bill income to be increased back to where it was before 12v12. I know they need people to spend money so they can't just give things away, but they need to find a happy medium between making me feel like I want to spend money and making me feel like I have to spend money. I'm all for being able to buy c-bills with MC, but the timing and the absurd price point of these packages has me highly skeptical and annoyed.
