What is the date on factional warfare now? PGI keeps saying 90 days but then you never see anything. There isnt any progress footage. There isnt any word from the design team. There is never any communication, just some vague promise and then silence.

uhm...

Yes there is, dig out the CC posts and announcements. There's a lot of information on when it shoudl be here. There's not an exact date but they have given approximate release times. They also pass on a lot of info on twitter, as well as the OT thread that Karl has been posting in recently

Sometime this year, or perhaps next year. Look nto the State of the Innersphere 2013 for an estimate. I wouldn't hold my breathe that community warfare will come his year.

AHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA.You must be new here...

Even if they gave us a date, they wouldn't make it, so lets just say..."maybe sometime in the future." It was originally promised before beta was over so...

With Community Warfare only 2 years behind schedule and continually delayed over and over again ... who would take a bet that it would be delayed one more time? What kind of odds would I get? "Community Warfare in 90 days" is a term we use on Team Speak for the double talk that PGI routinely puts out.

Why does no one over at PGI seem to think it is an embarrassment to misrepresent the truth? Why does PGI think that their player base doesnt see what is happening? Is that why Paul and crew never come to the Forums but once or twice a month? And when a dev does say something they dont engage and talk with their community.

I have supported PGI/IGP with money, time and support on the Forums. However, there is a limit. You can only abuse someone so much before they realize what is going on. For all of those out there who dont believe as I do, you are welcome to your opinion just like I am. I will just see how you feel after giving hundreds of dollars to PGI and seeing how you are treated after 2 years.

Something I've always kept in mind when playing or buying into "pre-release" games, be those alphas, betas, early access, or whatever they're called on Steam or in the industry - you buy into the game as it stands currently. Meaning, you only ever give as much money as you're comfortable parting with given the game in its current state.

I'm not trying to white-knight here. I long for this game to have some consequence as well. The matches are meaningless in context to one another, or even on their own. But the game is fun, once you drop into it. Buying into Mechwarrior Online for the idea of Community Warfare is silly. Never buy games now for future content. Buy them now for what they are now. Anything else is just a spirited donation.

Meh, at least make the bet more exciting.

Like have different timeframes for it being delayed again:

1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1-2 years, duke nukem forever & daikatana & guns n roses album

The game hasn't been out that long. How could that even be possible? Closed beta started May 22, 2012. That's 1 year 11 months and we certainly weren't expecting Community Warfare at the beginning of CB.

I'm betting 6 months and even then it'll be completely disappointing like UI2.0.

I'm personally not sure if I'm even looking forward to CW, as I'm worried that it might change the game beyond what I'm comfortable with (it's safe to say I'm not in-the-know plus I'm quite happy with unrelated death match battles).
But I digress, I bet it's going to be a while for sure, for some reason or another. I dare PGI to prove me wrong, I will pay handsomely for that mistake. :)

I have spent $130 US on MWO thus far, mostly on premium time. I will not spend another dollar until an enjoyable CW is delivered. At that point I am likely to buy every Hero and Clan mech to reward Piranha Games for finally delivering what many of us have waited decades for.

What this guy said. Seriously though. Closed Beta was for them to get the damn game working. Hmmm I had an account with MWO in March 2012 and got into CB in May 2012. I'm pretty sure they were more focused on getting the game stable before working on CW. Also, OB was similar.Open Betas are designed to see if your work in CB has provided a consistent stable platform because in OB you have thousands of more people which means thousands of more chances for something to go wrong that was not discovered in CB.

So, technically, you can start counting CW as of September 2013 which means we have only been waiting for uhhhh~7 months?

If you're going to make an argument, make sure you can back it up. That is all.

EDIT: Also, they never actually mentioned a timeframe for Community Warfare. They just said that it'd happen. They were never like: "Hey guys this is PGI speaking and you will see CW on x date and y time. They just said it'd happen. So again, learn the facts before you even start.

Yeah, but they won't" cross their fingers and hope to die" promise it then either, that's asking too much.

So when PGI said CW 90 days after OB, 6 months after Project Phoenix. then 6 months after Clan sales it didn't happen?
Someone needs to get the facts right.

Hmmm...odd I could have sworn I was only saying that way back when this game was first inducted and was an idea, they did not claim a timeframe. I never said that they did NOT give us timeframes later on. Also, still not two years. Game hasn't been out for two years.

Care to bring up any other unrelated content in an attempt to prove me wrong?

EDIT: 6 months after clan sales? Well, it depends what they mean by "after" sales. IF they mean back in December when they started selling, then next month (May) is 6 months and that isn't happening. If they mean AFTER jun 17th once sales are finished, that puts us at December 2014. They claim V1 of CW nis in the fall, so that'd seem more right. Again, the "after" can be interpreted both ways so I'm not sure. I'm not PGI afterall

Beta implies all major content is present not necessarily working... The game is actually a highly polished alpha.

I feel just fine. Been here since closed beta and I still love this game.

Also, while I'm very critical of their design decisions at times, I still think this is the best Mechwarrior title ever created.

Exactly. Alpha is like a fetus inside a woman. Beta is like the newborn infant growing up and full release is like the kid graduating college. Just like that comparison, just because we graduate college, does not mean our journey is over. We still gotta get our career job, marry someone, be successful, leave a legacy, etc. That's what MWO is doing. It graduated, and now it is trying to find it's soulmate. My money is on its soulmate being a sexy female Mechwarrior.
