Likewise, when you see a Jager with dual Gauss or AC20s, that represents nearly a quarter of the mech's weight...FOR EACH GUN. When a Jager mounts those things, they should be 50% arms. Maybe that would cut down on that particular meta.

and how the PPC should probably look on the FS9

yes, I know one could not mount 2 ppcs, or 3, lord help you, this way. Why would you want to tho? (Even if you want 2 PPC it makes way more sense to put them on the opposite arms. Lights make crap poptarts) :D

I was disappointed when I got my new Thunderbolt this weekend. Quite literally, the Ultra AC/5 and other Autocannon representations for the left arm look like a barrel with a rectangular box attached to the back end of it. I was expecting more, or at least for PGI to conceptualize what the size of various weapons would be outside a Mech, and then try to keep things fairly similar in size from build to build... even if it meant adding to the original hit boxes. The way they've done the weapons on some Mechs seems rather 'Just get it done already', not really a solid effort at game emersion.

Oh well, it's not as if we all run around with vanity mirrors or something, but it would be nice eye candy for in the Mech Lab.

I LOVE the large PPC on the Locust... it makes the Locust even more adorably small!

just more fuel for sized hard points, IMO. Now mind you, I also acknowledge that an ac may be a huge chunk of the units mass, but some of these guns are also far denser, and thus more compact, for their weight. But there shouldn't be literally 3x the size difference between a PPC on a Banshee and one on a Firestarter.

I can't like this thread hard enough. PGI should implement something to fix this and the MANY other issues that have cropped up by not having sized hard points. I think there were, what, 4 or 5 possible solutions in the K2 thread? Any of them would be better than what we have, and would curtail the 2xPPC builds on these tiny mechs... .allowing for a nice BEEFY PPC to rightfully be hanging off the arm of a locust.

Panther FTW!

Can we please just get consistent weapon sizing across all mechs? PPCs are the worst offenders, but Autocannons suffer this as well and missiles even have a few fringe cases. If it means hardpoint size limitations, then GOOD.

unfortunately we had a derpy OB community encourage PGI to do exactly this. make the generic omni style anything goes customisation work, but don't screw up hit boxes cause muh derp build must be competative.

it started out "innocently" with wanting to keep the gauss kitty and making it look "plausable" at the same time.

Posted Image

now wacko builds have to look "plausable" even though side by side with other mechs they're completely out of whack.

it's a problem some community members encouraged the devs to do :) we should've had sized hard points instead but those who said it are sitting here shaking our heads or have left and there's no chance in hell the customisation scheme will be remade so i doubt this art work will be redone.

Another example of ******** weapon sizing is the thunderbolt. Put a gauss rifle in mine and was surprised to see it was about the size of a freaking Ac2.

Seriously. I know we have much bigger balance issues and such.

But can you REALLY tell me it don't bug you? Alex re-designed Symmetrical Chicken Walker Death made to Perfection. The In game Modelers delivered it to the T. If A Giant Stompy Robot could be SEX, it would be the K2.

Perfection. I get misty eyed and weak kneed looking at my old Killer of CB. Are the Barrels oversized? NO! Look at the bores! They obviously have armored sleeves to help protect their 7 ton lightning guns.

And so we get a geometry pass, and lo! Things can only get better! Except.......

PGI giveth. PGI taketh away.

Is anyone else with me about the great injustice done to the once Masterpiece that was the K2? This is like if the restorers of the Sistine Chapel had used spray paint. Neon spray paint.

Thank you for your support.

Agree with you 100%! :)

We want our Tig Ol Bitties back!!

Sized hardpoints is all I can say... Reference link in my signature.

@Bishop... Heard there was a very real possibility of getting the Panther and Wolfhound. Do you have a Panther mock-up that actually uses a PPC stock?

Sized hardpoints would make mechs like the Panther and Wolfhound unique.....

I'm saying it should be even bigger. Cuz the one its got is tiny. Not Firestarter tiny, but tiny
