First and foremost if you use 3PV to view above lips and corners, you won't get spotted unless you went too far ahead in which case you will see the little red light.
Im surprised at the last three posts, actually. It doesn't bother me much because I'm either dealing with a bunch of ten year olds or immature adults, and I can;t pick which is worse.
People talk about immersion - This is a battlefield, this is war, are totally against 3/3/3/3, can't stand the word balance, but aren't above using the third person view for reconnaissance.
Is it a big deal? Hell no, but certainly a subject that takes away from the views and beliefs of so many on this forum who are self deemed expert pilots, lol.
