I'm not trolling :/

First and foremost if you use 3PV to view above lips and corners, you won't get spotted unless you went too far ahead in which case you will see the little red light.

Im surprised at the last three posts, actually. It doesn't bother me much because I'm either dealing with a bunch of ten year olds or immature adults, and I can;t pick which is worse.

People talk about immersion - This is a battlefield, this is war, are totally against 3/3/3/3, can't stand the word balance, but aren't above using the third person view for reconnaissance.

Is it a big deal? Hell no, but certainly a subject that takes away from the views and beliefs of so many on this forum who are self deemed expert pilots, lol.

And apart from that, the biggest problem in PUG games is not 3PV. It's the average PUG itself. (shut down brain - go "dakadakadakadaka-buzzzzzz-buzzzz-wosh" and die in an instant without even realizing it's supposed to be a team game)

I must recognize english it's not my first language and i have a high count of eye bleeding typos so my apologize in advance for those poor people who may suffer due it.


P.S: i have the luck (or lack of it) to fight oftenly with skilled players from 12 man premades on my pug drops, i still have to see any of them even when using lights abuse 3PV in such way, despite the fact *they* should be the top players abusing it more than anyone else (competitive crowd 4tw)

May I ask, how would you "see" it?

No the intention of Third person view was, quite literally to help people who apparently are so derp, they cannot understand that "mech drives like tank" And that your torso and legs move seperately from one another.

That was basically the official excuse... despite the over 5000 people saying 3rd person view could take a hike... but now it's here to stay unless they give us a dedicated 1st person only server que.

Another thing.

Flamers are the FotM and people tend to blind you with them when almost face-hugging.
Try hitting F4 then and see how it goes for you and the enemy.

I LOVE individuals who turn on 3PV to try and look over hills. I was playing Canyon Network last night and this total idiot in a Banshee thought he could get up top, and turn on 3PV to help see who was shooting at him and if we were still there.

Result: With little effort I kept him pinned behind the rock as I knew where he was while I typed to two teammates who took the time to flank him. Had he turned it off, he probably could have slipped away down the hill, re-positioned and I would have had to try and hunt him (maybe even won), but not in this case.

I just don't get the immersion crowd, its never going to be war, its never going to be anything but a computer game where a lot of mostly 40 somethings sit in comfortable chairs, drinking coffee, snacking between matches.

Your mech crashes to the ground head shot, you say F me and sometimes yell hack, or noob in open channel, the fact there is an open channel to the other team well duh, even in world of warcraft you can't do that..immersion HAH.

You commiserate with fallen comrades you never know the real grief of losing the person who helped keep you alive, and drank with off duty, you never run the risk of dieing.

Hands up all those people that play the game in trunks at a room temerature of around 50celcius wearing a motorbike crash helmet and give yourself electric shocks to the genitals when your mech gets crushed, then and only then have you the right to whine about people wanting a cockpit glass toggle.

All the things war are waged for and with... It was sold as a war game set in the Clan Invasion Era of a war torn universe...
