Was a huge fuss about nothing.

just like consumables, ghost heat, and increasing LRM speed ruined the game too.
always listen to the naysayers when they claim that any change will ruin the game. because they are always right. always.

I ment nothing gameplay wise. The forum was full of guys claiming it would be abused all day long, people would do nothing but play in 3PV, use it to see things they actually shouldn't, just look and MW4 and so on and so on. Nothing of that acutally happened. Even the peeking over hilltops is pretty much a non issue ingame. The number of guys who are actually doing it is minimal.

Yeah i was one of those against 3pv, but i (and i think everyone else) didn't know at the time that it was going to do mostly nothing except screw over new players.
It does still give a slight benefit to scouting...but not much.

Except for the fact that it went through many different design changes to stop it being too useful and then still had to get nerfed and removed from 12mans.

And there were those of us who were RIGHT in telling you that PGI KNEW OF THE MW4 issue that 3PV had. Guess what? They implemented it properly, with the correct drawbacks in place, so that its a choice between the two.
Might want to listen to what others are saying sometimes (some of us actually use Logic and Reason), we might be right afterall.

Not cool.

Properly? It was a completely pointless waste of resources! The choice is play in 1pv or die fast.
And no, people were not saying PGI will do it right, they were saying it won't be a big deal. If it were made so that there was a point to it it would be a big deal.
As it is now it just makes learning to play harder for new players and makes it slightly easier to scout.
We were all wrong.

you know this as a new player eh?
I know because i've watched players in 3pv get slaughtered as they wander around firing all over the place.
Also my daughter tried learning using both views and she said that 3pv just made it hard for her to see where she was going, especially because she couldn't see the map.

Nope. PGI just did not go all the way with my ideas.

I actually found one person who preferred to play in 3rd person view...He said he enjoyed the 3L with streaks.
Personally, I forgot it was in game. I'm curious to see if PGI would release the % of players using 3rd.
