Mokou, did you ever know about web browser image downscaling?
The jagged images you are seeing are downscaled high res. If you want to be stuck with thumbnails suit yourself, ther rest of us will open them in full size and enjoy.

Is this image https://static.mwome...6517D6D2C1B.jpg downscaling?
Looks like not.

Wow, I can't believe I missed that, thanks.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go and pay penance for that sin by going over TROs again.

Aawww, it's so adorable AND DEADLY!

EDIT: If PPCs aren't your thing, then, throw on a couple of Large Pulse Lasers or a PPC and a Large laser etc.

Even though the modification of the loadout is limited, I still think it's going to be a good mech and may get one when they are released for c-bill purchase.

But by all means, do prove me wrong if it is stated in a TRO or other source.

Mech customization rules were not in the standard rule set. Of course you can always buy a source book that will let you do anything and if you played Mechwarrior and not just Battletech there's all kinds of crazyness in there too.

Rules

[edit]Quick Start Rules

Classic BattleTech Introductory Box Set, this is a partial rules set and does not include Heat Sinks and any other rules that may be too complex for beginners.
[edit]Basic Rules

Published in the Classic BattleTech Introductory Box Set, This level of play is only the most basic of the rules sets and does not include Infantry, or Combat Vehicles.
[edit]Standard Rules

Total Warfare is the book that the Standard Rules are published in. The Standard Rules are the level of rules that are used in most Tournaments and Official Games. The Standard Rules are primarily the Tournament Legal Rules from the Rules Level 2 System.
Tech Manual While Construction and Custom 'Mechs are not part of the Standard Rules Set, This is the book that contains the construction rules that were used to build the Canon Tournament Legal Units.
[edit]Advanced Rules

Advanced Rules Equipment is in production "in universe" but have rules too complex for Tournament Play. This has a very rough correspondence to Rules Level 2 Equipment that was too complex for Tournaments.
Tactical Operations contains the advanced rules and equipment that deal with or are useful on the Tactical Level of game play.
Strategic Operations contains the advanced rules and equipment that deal with or are useful on the Strategic Level of game play
[edit]Experimental Rules

Experimental Rules Equipment is being prototyped or has gone out of production. There is a very rough correspondence to Rules Level 3 Equipment. They are also considered rare and exotic technology which are considered to be not for use for Standard & Tournment game play.
Tactical Operations contains the experimental rules and equipment that deal with or are useful on the Tactical Level of game play.
Strategic Operations contains the experimental rules and equipment that deal with or are useful on the Strategic Level of game play.

actually, until the printing of Total warfare, mech customization and custom mech creation was always found in the core rulebooks. (it's also in the box set btw, as are the full rules for the 3025 tech level)

the only reason that total warfare didn't have it was space.. TW included mechs, vee's, proto's, aircraft, infantry.. the amount of rules and systems that needed covered was huge. so they split it into total warfare, which had the rules for play, and tech manual, which had all the rules for building/customizing.

its the same for the 'operations" series of books.. the sheer number of non-tounament legal technology and rules that had built up meant they needed 3 books to house all of them (especially since this included alternate 'strategic' rule sets like battleforce) and it is lookingthat with all the era specific rules going into book 3, they might have to split it again..

customization has never been illegal.. it just usually took a long time ot pull off. swapping weapons (say swapping the SRM4 on a commando for 2 ML's) would take a couple days of design work and rebuilding the mech. changing an engine could take over a month on its own. replacing armor a couple days.. etc. and anything but very simple weapon swaps was super expensive because you were basically rebuilding large parts of the mech. plus there was a very good chance that even with simple weapon changes, that you'd unbalance the mech and make it much harder to pilot.. which would require an even longer period in the shop to fix, since you'd basically have to redo the whole modification. and the work is expensive because your paying several technicians to do it and have to cover workshop costs.

this is why Omnimechs were such a big deal.. it only takes 30 minutes to swap out a location. converting -C1 catapult into a -K2 catapult would take months, assuming they work round the clock. even a change like a AC jeagermech to an LRMboat jeager mech would take a couple weeks. but an omnimech could do it in a hour, 30 minutes per arm. swapping a Summoner/Thor Prime to the LRmboat B would only take an hour and a half.

but MWO doesn't track the time modificatiosn take, or the cost of the workshop work, just the cost of the parts. which is why IS mechs in MWO have an unfair advantage over Omni's.

Innersphere lights going 150 kph or 171 kph or gonna run circles around this and eat for breakfast ;)

The Adder is designed to provide mobile direct fire support to an allied star. Said star will most certainly be attacked by those Jagers, and the star will protect the Adder from the lights. Teamwork is OP, right?

Pretty much, yeah. If you're gonna run it forward to try to harass enemy mechs while trying to dodge shots just because it's a "light mech", then you're doing it wrong. It's a tiny, fast fire-support that works with the team, not individually.

Also, due to its ability to carry multiple larger SSRM launchers, and because it can lose 1 side torso, it will probably eat 1-2 lights for breakfast.

well the star will have to be a bit close to the Adder to protect it from lights , making the adder target-able for dual gauss or ppc/ac 5's methink

if it does manage to stay back with manageable heat with er's it could work
but the cicada and ravens can already do 2 ppc going 140 ish with escape ablity but lose out on close range

theres always gausscicada with 50 shots at 113 kph 15 damage and range ;)

The Adder will have more damage, more range, for 10 kph less, and infinite ammo. DOA? Keep telling yourselves that. It will simply require a change in tactics.

It is before tweak. The speed calculations should be the same for IS and Clan so you can use smurfy to check the speeds by selecting a mech of the same size and hovering over an engine with the correct rating. Might be useful since some of the speeds on sarna will be different from this game due to rounding from the table top game.

Very Riki Tik PGI, keep up the excellent design Mech Model's, certainly no complaints. But now just imagine a proper interactive Combat Terrain in which to roll those Battlemechs in. Perhaps even it had been designed that way from day one instead of the current MWO Universe we have to ditty bop in? Oh what a really wonderful Universe that would be?

Just over 100kph is not too bad, plus it will have quite a bit of firepower for a light mech.
