well clan ecms are supposed to be equipable to many mechs unlike the IS and having to build mechs specifically to enable carrying it like the raven

it's going to be interesting if Cecm will be closer to lore or will be for selected chassis only. but to try and convince pgi of which way to do it is like.... well it's like...

But you recognize how game-breaking would be having a full binary of ECM and jumping 'Mechs equipping lighter ERPPCs and UAC/s?

Also i do not recall such a heavy use of ECM by Clan forces in the lore, even against IS forces.

It makes sense to help offset the restricted omnimech lights with their potential reduced speeds. But I would not propose to say that any Clan Mech should be able to fit ECM even if from the TT precendent any IS or Clan Mech could fit ECM even if the Stock Mechs had more restricted options.

The idea of the Kit fox and the Adder having ECM makes sense. The best stipulation would be however, due to being able to swap Omni hard points around would be to reduce a Hardpoint in the places where the ECM is then equipped (if not already a stock option) to counter the flexible building arrangements. Or make it somehow a choice between Targeting Computer and ECM if sensible to do for the main CT platform with how those suggested mechanics might apply.

But all Clan Mechs being able to fit ECM would be ridiculous (especially if Angel with double counter) but no Clan Mechs with ECM also makes it a problem. Hopefully as per the "Stock" Kit Fox C and modifying an Adder platform to help the restricted lights (we have seen so far) would be the most sensible approach imho.

sorry if i suggested that it was hevily used i'm just dragging a bit of sarna here and wondering will pgi adapt the same thing... one of hundreds of questions to ask about clan implementation into MWO and we're less than 2 months away from that happening now.

Clan Systems

In the Clans, the Guardian ECM suite was used as the basis for an improved ECM Suite. This system can be found in every Clan's touman. They weigh a single ton, and can be mounted on nearly anything.

if ecm mechanics in MWO worked like ecm mechanics in BT this wouldn't be such a battlefield controlling piece of equipement.

oh and perhaps Bap would just grow in popularity too considering that's now eccm mk2 if ecm's flooded clam meta teams.
