If they wanted people to buy more of the gold mechs, I would of suggested putting up a number from the start, instead of some ambiguous "limited quantity" thing. This would give people some incentive to buy them, when the number shows (and also for being a "low"" number for having been the first to buy said item). Would be cool if they put up a number on the rest of them now, instead of just the Cat.
Also, to any of those who are a part of the N.O.P.E Crowed, you best be thankful to EVERY last one of the people who DID buy a gold mech, for ensuring this games continued development and running server.
*mutters* ungrateful little snobs.

Actually, a better idea would be for PGI to release exact details on how Clan equipment will work. Those details will tell me which goldie to get.
For crying out loud, it's barely 7 weeks to release and there are still no details yet.

The PHOENIX pattern/colors were the exclusives. The HotRod pattern/colors were never exclusive, they were community unlocks. Everyone that pre-ordered the Phoenix packages just got the HotRod patterns/colors for those mechs for free.
Funny, I saw the Phoenix colors and I swear they looked just like the PC Gamer colors.

Yes, LEGOS. Every kid and maybe adult too, should own legos. Back in the 70's my brother and I got a big set of legos from my cousin George and we had countless years of fun building stuff with those things. I buy them for my Nephew just so I can play with them.
I should buy some gold ones.
You don't need gold ones, just aim for completing a product line, you will spend $500 eventually. Don't forget Tenkai Knights.

Yes thuogh there may now be some ad problem on how many. Initial post says 50 are left so explain this splash screen saying otherwise.

What it actually means is that basically no one's bought them, and thus they are attempting to generate demand by creating an artificial sense of urgency.
It's not likely to work though, because the only people foolish enough to buy them have already done so.

so how is MW:T doing I bought in, and then rapidly dumped it, for various reasons.
Only 4 mechs and no hint of suggesting it was going to be at least company size combat, chat windows were so tiny, art and design of mechs were seriously bad, maps were so small it was point and click (well duh) and the most weapons won, mechwarrior commander was/is a game that is 100 times better, and the fact this is so less of a game and just so lame (if I want to collect cards i'll play pokemon) being browser based is no excuse for such a weak game, The secret world love it of hate it, is also browser based

Honestly the only thing I didn't like about it was the confirmation delay after every little action (torso twist, etc). If things were changed to company vs company scale combat and the delay was not addressed, I think I'd claw my eyes out as if I had just seen a Lovecraftian horror.

Yeah I'm not sure exactly what the deal is with this company and fonts ;P. It's such a minor issue it seems a shame to complain about it, but it should also be so easily fixable...

To be honest I was kind of hoping they'd share assets between the games, and maybe even have some kind of crossing over (sort of like what Eve Online has with that FPS game I can't remember the name of). It need not be so direct or so elaborate, but it'd be kinda neat, IMHO, and at least some of the more indirect aspects shouldn't be too hard to code (for example, victories in one game affecting the front lines in another... although that could lead to an imbalance in one game ruining both, lets try to maintain an atmosphere of sunny optimism, hmm ;P?).

The maps were small when I played too, but FWIW it was appropriate for the # of mechs available per match (no one wants to chase down a lone raven, especially not with latency after every single command). I do remember Mech Commander fondly (although that was back in the day, when netcode was apparently hammered together by chain gangs of monkeys being fed rotten bananas, and for reasons beyond my comprehension I could not connect to my friends in multiplayer even though I followed all the steps and never had any such unsolvable problems with any other games before or since), but that was real time, wasn't it?
Still, your point is well taken.
I agree that the cards thing seems a bit cheesy, although I sort of like part of the concept behind them (specific models/manufacturers for components with unique modifiers/properties!).

Why would anyone expect any details from PGI/IGP to be released publicly on their own website?!?! They haven't even bothered to tell us what a warhorn does or how the Warhawks targeting computer will work, or even show us a beta of CW... answers in order... haven't decided, have no idea, doesn't exist.

I dunno maybe we should be thankful that our founders money went to fund MW:T which seems like it's only around to make the development cycle of Duke Nukem forever seem fast? Maybe we should be thankful that a handful of fools are willing to throw more money at more generic recycled asset boxes known as mechs? Or perhaps so we can get more unbalanced maps with clipping issues and spots where you get stuck on pebbles?
And I wish people would stop the frigging star citizen comparisons, yeah they have a thousand dollar ship but for one the game is basically at a tech demo stage and already shows more polish then this game that's been in development for how long now? And the game actually looks WORSE now then during closed beta (cause you know we gotta cater to those potato computer players since people who can't afford a semi decent video card will TOTALLY dump 500 on a mech...). But what really people forget is the Idris Corvette is something that has a crew in it, I believe a minimum of ten people with space for more, and a docking bay for two fighters. It's something an entire GUILD will buy and share... how many of your buddies can play with your 500 dollar skinned mech? Oh that's right... just you.
It makes much more sense for a guild of 20 people to toss in 50 bucks a head and buy the group a star ship, you can actually justify that...
And yeah someone purchased a 16 GRAND package... you know why? Because there are a series of games that people who were big computer nerds in the 90's grew up playing... one was mechwarrior... another was wing commander... you know what? Those people many of them now have REALLY good jobs and can afford to drop MAJOR coin on what amounts to a romp in their childhood...
THAT'S the fan base PGI alienated by constantly trying to pander to the lowest common denominator and constantly alienating the core fan base who was more then willing to throw MAJOR cash at them...
THAT'S who founders are who were sold on an emmersive hardcore battletech and mechwarrior experience and got what amounts to a buggy arena shooter, built to appeal to the casual 'CAWADOOTIE' player. And THAT'S why so many of us now say "NOPE" and pretty much will play this game and try to have some minimally viable fun before the servers get shut down and PGI goes bankrupt.
I hope you StarKhan OVERGOLDS take plenty of screen shots of your gold prizes so you have something to print out on a piece of paper and have something to show for your 500 bucks when that happens...
A reskin with recycled assets that will likely only draw a ton of fire from both the enemy and a few stray AC20 rounds 'accidentally' hitting you in the back from your own team?
Really?
And it's not even a GOOD skin I mean christ sakes at least the frigging type 59 in World of Tanks has a dragon on the side... Oh well it's not like I expected anything else.
You'd have to PAY me to get one in a drop,... not even joking...
You know what I AM thankful for? How wise my grandfather was when he said that a fool and their money are soon parted, nice to see PGI proving him right.
Oh well, at least these die hard clanners buying into this crap will have their war horns...
