A bondsman has to ask his/her bondholder for permission to commit bondsref. Seppuku is a different story.

Methinks a Blood Spirit wouldn't care what the potential bondholder thought, to whit "I would rather die than be a Clan Coyote bondsman" as an example. Blood Spirits would be intractable and preceded by their "idiom" so I do not think a potential Bondholder could prevent or convince a Blood Spirit to consider otherwise. There is so little lore about the Blood Spirits, you would have to make something reasonable up, like the potential Bondholder being so Awesome and respected a Mechwarrior, the Blood Spirit might just make a saving throw for alignment change.

And remember, General Clan Law tended to be interpreted according to, among other things, a given Clan's idiom and social morays and the perspective of their Totem animal.

Well yes & no. Not asking for permission would be seen as dishonorable however, the Crusader Clans Field Manual states that the Blood Spirits HATE the Coyotes so....................

And we ALWAYS tried to ensure that part of the idiom carried over into our RP in NBT. We do not see any reason to change at this point.

Also at the time of the Harvest Trials... quote "Viewed by many as the weakest of all the Clan's, centuries of conflict and broken promises have left the Blood Spirits with an isolationist position and a rabid hatred of all the Clans" and "To describe the Blood Spirits as insular is a major understatement. They rarely take bondsmen and often attempt bondsref rather than be taken in by other Clans" and their war with burrock/Star Adders had them pulled completely back to their homeworld of York with only a minor enclave on Strana Mecty...most of the time the BS Khans only appear in Grand Council by HPG Halo..and have almost no contact with other clans..

not true.... clans were recyclers.. they had to use everything to survive.. warriors are no exception.. Clan Blood Spirit started out as the most open of the clans and only through bad things and being taken advantage of made them insular.. in ALL the other clans being taken as a bondsman was seen as sign of honor... and warriors who earned their warrior status back usually became more adamant in their new clan than their old one....think of old Japanese samurai and you have a similar mind set with the clans.. being bred as a trueborn made warriors look at their clan as their family..

Gremlich, I put forward a proposal that has been approved by The Ourse Keshik.

I have known you for a very long time & I know that your Blood Spirit identity is important to you & your fellow warriors. As you know, the Blood Spirits are a Home Clan & did not participate in Operation: Revival. We also know that you & your warriors would like the opportunity to fight. We therefore present you with the option of joining us directly as Nekhron Kirov did, or fight as a Blood Spirit under a contract with us Ghost Bears.

as did the Hell's Horses & the Wolves for the Harvest Trials:

If you choose the latter option, then you need at least a full star or better still, a Binary for us to integrate you within our Touman. If you come with a Star you will have one Star Commander & four Mechwarriors. If you come with a Binary, you will have one Star Captain, one Star Commander & eight Mechwarriors. If you manage to get a full Trinary, you will have one Star Captain, two Star Commanders & twelve Mechwarriors.

We leave the decision up to you, trothkin.

Trothkin, I believe that we can, under contract, outfit a Star - Myself, Ryu/Nova Crusader, Trooper Thorn, OfTheDark, and Zechs. I will get with them so that we may get prepared. All of us are waiting for more detail before we "purchase" any Clan tech.

Our fabled zeal will not disappoint.

Good to hear. When you are ready, let us know who is the Star Commander & who are the four Mechwarriors, then we will find a Cluster to place you all in.

See you on the battlefield, trothkin!

Alle, as a start, make sure to "friend" me on MW:O as Gremlich Johns.

Oh, I would like to use "Treaty" vice "contract".

It would be easy to RP that.

For any of the Ghost Bears that are interested, here is CBS's website. Please register and see what we have there for reading and background.

Particularly this RP done in NBT-HC
