Be advised: the stock BJ-1 is the worst 'mech I've ever used in stock matches (I own twelve stock 'mechs). It has the least ammunition of any stock design I've seen, exceptionally hot & inefficient weaponry, and unusually poor heat sink placement & count. It often can't even use its jumpjets, because of the heat.
Lies. Okay, its ammo is limited. But it's still an excellent mech. You just can't twin-fire... err, anything. Especially those AC2s in this ghost-heat era.

If nothing else... my Stock Mech Account will start rocking even higher (than the middle of) the score charts!

I have the same thoughts here, but PGI can't plan and create MW:O around us Stock Mech groups. They have to play and blance things for the game in how it's typically played. (However, this will make running stock mechs more viable, and will reward people for playing mechs closer to their lore/stock configurations. Might help make the game more balanced overall and help bring the game into feeling more like BT again.

A feel maybe, but not a realistic BT experience. People will still stuff in the biggest engine possible, mount the most armor possible, and use thousands of rounds of ammunition (and rarely put it in the torso's where it should be), and mount builds that require 2 clicks to kill an opponent. There is no regulation in Open Custom. For example, Locusts will still be chased down, so their uniqueness as a fast, decently armed Light is minimal.
Where-as pure stock, one has to take into account a Mech's base speed, the weapons it carries, how much ammo it has (ammo conservation), etc. Normally all of that together requires the player (in TT or MW) to take into account what all their variant has and what role it will have in their Lance(s) in order to complement someone else's Stock build as we all know, or have known in the past (as I'm sure some of you also played stock stuff back in previous MW).

Maybe, but all IS mechs will be getting them, so each will have their own specialized buffs. We'll probably just see TTK drop a little bit in stock matches, but that could be a good thing. Get the match over a little quicker and new players in.
Just looking at the silver lining.

Actually, I rarely played MW in any multiplayer capability. By the time I did, it was only for a short time and not stock. Then again, back when many of the MW games where out, I cared more for gameplay (beating the missions in solo player campaign) than lore (doing it in a stock mech).
With MW:O, I feel that the lore should be more important, as in I should be able to field stock mechs and do well (maybe not great) within the game itself. I see these buffs as a possible nod towards that end at least. It's not perfect, but no system will be for everyone.

Is that account going to be stock only? We have an (unofficial) unit for Stock Mechs only. We play them in public matches, and are proud of it! (If you want in, let me know and I'll send invite when I'm next on... which may be a while. Just moved and everything is EVERYWHERE! No room yet for main computer...

As long as you have the right crits in the right places, the right engine, the right weapons/ammo tons, and the right amount of armor, Endo and FF are irrelevant as far as I know. You'll just be going in "undertoned" is all.
Sadly, you wont be able to see me again. Still moving. Still no room to set up computer. Still can't join...

Stick to group queue if you want players with functioning brain cells.
Oh, I've been around long enough to know that, but I've somehow been one that's managed to get some enjoyment from the public queue. But oh my god, was it horrid this weekend. Every game I dropped, dire wolves everywhere, dying after doing 20 damage.

That would be the "follow the meta" crowd. They see it work for other people, and then jump into it themselves even though it doesn't match their playstyle. They are probably new Direwolf pilots too, who aren't familiar with the chassis (and probably only bought it because it recently came out for C-bills, and they keep hearing how OP it is...).
We all started somewhere... Right?
