I wont be joining today. I'm not feeling overly well, and actually left work early.

Just so you all know.

I can't wait to see Rhaythe's videos. There were some very good large-scale brawls this evening!

Tonight was a great blast, I'll see if I can get more folks from HHoD and the other units into this. It felt like what a real-time simulation of TT should be like.

Three are in the works right now. The rest will have to wait until tonight to get pieced together. I don't have the Hunchback 4G or 4SP intro segments uploaded. Oversight fail. >_<

In the meanwhile, enjoy this older match. The Epic Dropship Rush from a few weeks back, captured from both sides:

So, after last night's epic stock matches, I added three four a lot more stock 'mechs to my stable.

LCT-1V
GRF-1S
WVR-6K
TDR-5S
CPLT-K2
ON1-VA
VTR-9B
BLR-1D
BJ-1
CN9-A
COM-2D

I've got three or four a few maybe one more I'm going to revert to stock - because I have more fun playing stock than standard.

I pretty much PUG just to fund my Stock Mech habit these days.

During the endless wait for the next Stock 'mech night, I have to consider what other stock machines to add.

I've got a few open 'mech bays. I'm considering the following additions:

The CPLT-C1 : This is an old favorite of mine. I know it's low on ammo and runs hot, but at least the armor's thin ...
The CPLT-C4 : Rumor has it this is actually a better Stock chassis due to increased ammo; but is it fun?
The CN9-A : A solid 'trooper' mech; mainly for a ton-down option. Runs hot, but buffed shield-arm ...
The BJ-1 : Really quad medium lasers backed up by mad minute AC/2s; runs hot ...
The WVR-6R : Love the design but concerned about ammo. Will I be running around with a single ML after five minutes?
The GRF-1N : Love the design but it's helpless under 90m and the PPCs just got nerf'd. Could I still have fun in it?

Haha, "I know it's low on ammo and runs hot, but at least the armor's thin..." made me laugh.

I'd suggest the Centurion and the Griffin. Cent's and Hunchies are pretty great in every battle. The Griffin 1N is just really fun - flying around, always looking for good position. That'd be my suggestion...Cent or Griffin (I say Griffin first because it's a unique play experience).

Comments:

GRF-1S - If you're gonna go Griffin, go with the one with a large laser and two mediums to back it up. Plus a 5-back of LRMs for taste.
BJ-1 - There is nothing wrong with this selection. It runs a touch hot, but chain-fire those AC2s and you'll do fine.
CN9-A - This is probably one of the most well-rounded mechs I've used in Stock Mech Monday.

Recommendations:
Any Hunchback - These mechs are perfectly balanced for Stock Mech Monday. You really have to be trying to overheat with these things.
Spider 5V - Yes, it's only got 2 medium lasers. But think about it - 142kph with speed tweak, and you can lose BOTH TORSOS and still be 100% combat effective. And they scare Carl. Like, lots.
Ilya Muromets - A single heat-sink hero, with one hell of a loadout.

Wish I was able to join you guys last night. Hoping for next week, which gives me time to get some of mechs reset and get some new ones. I guess the biggest question is if there is a specific weight class or role that needs more representation. I am super ok with filling in the gaps and will try to get a good mix of stocks ready, just curious if anything is kinda needed.

I feel like we run low on light mechs in general, but most of the time, there are enough 50 tonners (IE: Hunchbacks) being run to balance that out. Still, I'd recommend picking up a Jenner F or a Spider 5V (or if you're REALLY brave, a Locust 1V - it's a better mech than you think) for those moments when weight balancing becomes an issue. There's always a good representation of mediums and heavies on Monday night, but bring what you want to fly to the party. Most of the hardcore stock pilots have plenty of mechs to go around, so we'll adjust to fit as needed.

I enjoy my Locust 1V, but I'm just not a terribly good light pilot. I'm attempting to expand my collection of Stock Mediums so I have plenty of tonnage options.

I have a 1S Griffin and love it, I may add the 1N just for the challenge. I think I may downgrade my existing BJ-1 and CN9-A - that would give me 20, 45, 50, 55, 65, 75, 80, and 85 ton options.

I guess I could downgrade a Commando 2D as well ... I never run it in standard mode.

Despite being a pretty exclusive light pilot, I don't own any Commandos. Worth the investment?

Be advised: this has an XL engine, so wouldn't be a valid 'mech in any Tech Level 1 matches. Wednesday would allow it on at least some eras, I think.

The two (commandos) that ran around last night seemed to be doing pretty well damage wise for their size, mainly because everyone ignored them for the most part. I want to see more 45ton mediums in the game. The BLack Jack is one of my favorite mechs modded but, just don't feel as much love for them in stock yet. Hopefully with the Vindicator showing up soon it'll have some decent stock variants. I'd rather see some of the other 45 toners first though.

I actually like running my Locusts even though I die a lot with them. I'll see what I can easily refit back to stock and try to bring a variety of weights (sorry but I only have 1 IS assault chassis) to better prepare.

When it comes to Locusts, it's usually cheaper to just buy a new one instead of repurchasing lost equipment. I mean, really, you buy the engine and the Locust just kind of shows up with it. :P
