Thanks to everyone that played last night!

We're still figuring things, out and *I* thank you for your patience : ) Working with private lobbies and multiple dropships is a new thing for us (and everyone else I imagine!). So there is a *little* bit of letting things that are a little broken, stay a little bit broken, so we can figure out how to better manage them. We'll have that conversation more on the mechforce site though.

Nice work. Had a blast, got blasted, was awesome without an Awesome.. gonna build one........
On that note. Can I build my stock mech, now listen the whole way through.... without taking out the double heatsinks, endo etc, but build it to exact same specs. Heat eff, armor???? Ty

Also, posted this MWO poetry thread, and on my group's forum...
Stock Mech Mondays

At once I saw the ramifications, consternation, of the delegated nerd left perturbed, felt left out/without Cannon as noun, not just a verb. Twas I, I, confess, blessed to think I once was, left bereft, why? Just because. Not bi curious, just beta ignored, novel ideas, but not to the novel Battletech hoards?
Grab thine pitchforks, draw thy swords?
Nae nae, been done before...

Try the beauty of thought if you dare, in novel, table top, and lore, pop the boar, wrestle this bear.
Make yourself vulnerable,
Understand fair
And may the best be victorious, overwhelmingly vicious, conditions lead you to being pernicious, not suspicious, just all those others seem so crunchy, yes, so, so, so, yummy and delicious....

Another b.s plodduction

The full stream of Monday's stock mech battles is almost ready. Until then, here's a teaser:

This is awesome. I love seeing the matches from the other angle.

<3 Rhaythe and Lordred for documenting this event

Edit note: The terror on comms inspired by the Awesome is just . . . awesome. It's fantastic what Stock Mode has done for the machine

For the people that have been at the event, were people doing the team weight limit as 3/3/3/3 or 750 ton style?

I have room in my heart for a stock Awesome 8R, but if there's a lot of aggression for the Assault slot I'll buy a Hunchback and a Catapult instead.

Basically that would be the only reason to pick an 8Q depending on your lance make-up (makes a good pair with a close range assault while the 8Q lays down long range fire). Its unfortunate though that PGI did not add the field inhibitor.

Also we had 75 pilots show up, hells yeah!

Yeah, there is also the GH issue with the 8Q stock. I still say they should give all Awesomes a Quirk allowing 3LL and the 8Q 3PPCs/LLs before GH kicks in.

I think people have been using both. The tonnage limit seems to create more options for people who may have a limited selection of stock mechs.

So...today is Thursday, meaning yesterday was Wednesday...not Monday. Which is sad. I'm rather pumped for this coming Monday.

However, since it WAS Wednesday...I found these guys! Stock Mech Era Wednesdays! Same basic premise as Stock Mech Mondays...but specifically separated by era.

Since I know I want to play around on Mondays, but also wanted to give this a try, I went ahead and 'stocked' a mech in each weight class from the Tech 1 tree (which seems to be 'always a safe bet' for any Era, or either of these days).

I had so much fun last night I actually bought an Awesome 8Q...though at that point everyone disbanded, lol, so I didn't get to use it. I bought an Awesome. I swore I'd NEVER buy an Awesome. And a few stock games convinced me to try it, because goddamnit, it looked fun.

I went back and did some regular 4-mans with my group afterwards...and had a LOT less fun. Stock Queue is kinda where it's at for me right now...variety...tactics...balanced builds...yeah..."f***k the meta."

Looking forward to Monday, guys ;)

I think the fact that the awesome not only has some really good armor for it's weight but also has 28 single heat sinks and 3 ppcs really helps it out in stock matches. If you keep distance from it it will punish you for your indescretions.

I've got my eye on a quickdraw and most of the meta folks say that is even more useless than an awesome. The quickdraw has decent armor and all those lasers plus some lrms to throw at distance and jumpjets.... or I could get another orion.... lol.

The thunderbolt really comes into it's own in these matches too because of it's stock armor amounts. It's neat that you need to look at things like this to really appreciate the mechs in stock matches.

Now we need to make something happen on friday or saturday nights so we can get some stock action just about every other day.

That's one thing I did notice...that 1/2 armor value on Light Mech legs was a BRUTAL reminder of what lights should really feel like. That second match where you guys turtled on Alpine (and legged me in my Firestarter) was awesome ;)
