Here we go. First of two videos I uploaded just finished processing. Enjoy!

Very nice, Rhaythe...had much more fun watching THIS than the videos NGNG has posted for the bracket tournament.

Only got 4 games in last night (our washer died and so I spent considerable time last night browsing appliance stores before getting home...later than I anticipated).

Favorite moment of the night, though? Taking out the AWS-8Q for the second time ever, and having a Cicada get RIGHT up in my face and go to town, completely confident in its safety. I called out in TS for an assist "Because, you know, PPCs" and while a friendly Hunchback and Catapult demolished the Cicada whose back was turned to them I ignored the bug completely to shoot OVER the shoulder of the Catapult and take out a Highlander who tried to take advantage and sneak across.

Ignoring damage to the face like a boss and securing a kill over a teammates shoulder...moments like that are what I USED to play for. Stock Mech Monday gave them back. Thanks, Stock Mech Monday.

One of the beautiful parts about Stock Mech Monday; stock loadouts means excentric weapon groupings. At least, until everyone starts running nothing but K2s and 8Qs.

And, since we're limiting tonnage and (some teams) pick hot maps just BECAUSE of that...pretty sure that kind of abuse won't become an issue :P I hope :P. Speaking of, last Wednesday we were running the 'loser picks map and tonnage' rule. I liked that. Last night it wasn't going on, at least in our group. Wish it had been :)

Had a lot of fun, I was already worn out from a rough day but this made it a lot nicer of an end to that day at least. :P

Every time I earn another 500k in bills my eyes get wide and I can't decide which one to buy!!! Still saving up and just 3.5mill on my casual schedule but I think what you're doing for the community is great and fully endorse it. Feel free to use me as your clay pigeon when I get my mech paid off. :P

I'd like to think the pilots who enjoy Stock matches also take enough pride in themselves to reflect their personality through their mech and not just play the "me too" card when it comes to gaming the system. I mean.. hero mechs exist for a reason. Players in stocks can be all flashy with their paint and not worry about the meta deathsquad bearing down on them instantly. At least.. That's something I'm looking forward to. :P

What was the weight distribution this time around like? Which class was the least played, or most sought after?

My dropship stayed around the 650 tons per match limit. Common mechs included the Awesome 8Q, Catapult K2, a few Highlanders and Hunchbacks, and a vastly assorted collection of light mechs and mediums.

For people interested in trying out Stock who are leery of the cost of 'restocking' your 'Mech, check out this coming Wednesday Era night.

This week is 'Clan Invasion Era,' meaning a bunch of builds include double heatsinks and ferro/endo. It might be a slightly cheaper way to give this a shot!

Not much in terms of heavies, I see.

We kept the weight light on these teams. If go to the end of the video I posted, you can see the full listing of all the mechs. Straith's video has that at the beginning too.

I think we started at 420, then moved to 585, then 655 as we gathered more people into our channels.

In the 4 games I got to play last night there was a pretty decent variety of mechs...rarely more than two of the same variant on a team, and even then not often. Saw a wide variety of lights and mediums...Cataphracts, K2's, C4's, and a Jagermech for heavies...and 2 variants of awesomes, 2 Atlas D's, a victor or two and a Highlander for assaults, as I recall.

Usually each team would have a lighter assault like an awesome and then maybe one other like a victor or an atlas. The atlas just takes a beating and it takes the whole team to bring it down with stock mechs. LRMs are very brutal in stock matches though even with tons of armor so many times early in the engagement it is all about making those LRMs use up their ammo hitting mountains and buildings.

Some heavies I see a lot of are Cataphracts and Catapults, the first with its good weapon array and the second with its good mobility and LRMs.

I have been building up the skills on a quickdraw and an orion to see if those do a bit better in stock matches, need more folks with different weight mechs so I don't have to fill that awesome spot so much though lol.

Of the 4 matches, I took the AWS-8Q out 3 times...offered to drop lighter several times, and each time someone said "Nah, keep the Awesome" and changed, lol.

The last game I jumped into a Cent YLW...and lost both arms and a right torso and was shot to hell...at the end we had 3 mechs left standing...just barely...propped up against each other in a tripod lol.

Stock is fun at every tonnage level :P Note: I should probably block with the SHIELD arm instead of letting an Atlas tear up my AC/20. Things ya remember when you haven't jumped into a mech for a while lol.

We were sticking around 60 tons a person until we had several folks who claimed their only stock mechs were atlases. Eventually we swapped them around to help bring the tonnage back down.

It's pretty helpful to have at least two (low and high) tonnage mechs to switch between. I'm going to work on getting one in each class set stock again for the next match.

Very much so! Stupid spider. :)

I think the fact that the 5V is a real threat(and the best of the stock spiders) just makes me love this all the more. Also, you hit me first!

I looked at some of my favorite chassis and picked variants that I almost never use (I.e., the 8 energy hardpoint Firestarter compared to the Ember, the Atlas D compared to the DDC, the T-Bolt 5SS compared to...well it's a T-Bolt...it barely comes out in 12mans anyway, the YLW, because when EVERYONE has full armor it gets murdered in competitive play) and chose to stock those.

Gonna take the Boar's head and stock it out for tomorrow...I'm already running the build...just with DHS and a bigger engine, lol.

At the moment I'm debating between trying to earn enough cash to re-purchase a Cat-C4 or if I should just suck it up and re-set my A1 to stock.

Hero mechs... casual. :P

Also, Boar's Head comes stock with XL400. There's no way you could really play it with a 'bigger engine'.

Buy the C4, if you can manage the medium lasers heat you will do well with it even after you run out of LRMs.

That was great fun! Got to drive a Jenner F, Hunchie 4P, Cat C4, and an Atlas RS. Having to play the role for what each 'mech was designed for is a great chess match. Makes you think outside the box.

Would love to just switch a 'mech back to stock in one click, as long as we have the parts. That would save a lot of time.

thanks for hosting the games guys. It was the most fun I've had in a while. Going to convert a few of my lesser used 'mechs to be ready for the next time!

We need to convince some of the other guys in our group to come try it out, too.
