Buy the C4, if you can manage the medium lasers heat you will do well with it even after you run out of LRMs.

It comes stock with small lasers... unfortunately.

The C1, might be what you're talking about? I've got my founders C1 and it's currently kicking butt in pug matches and earning me fat loot. I hesitate to undo DHS on it. I had a C4 back in early open beta (first purchased mech) and sold it a very long time ago when missiles became outright bad.

I think the fact that the 5V is a real threat(and the best of the stock spiders) just makes me love this all the more. Also, you hit me first!

I know...that 3 PPC alpha was totally worth instantly throwing your side torso to cherry...then I remembered that you likely didn't have an XL considering it's STOCK...and the next spider I saw I popped a leg off instead :P

Hero mechs... casual. :P

Also, Boar's Head comes stock with XL400. There's no way you could really play it with a 'bigger engine'.

Ah, apologies for the confusion. Not the "Stock Boar's Head."

I set up Danielle Rondema's Atlas from 3028 USING the Boar's Head chassis. Wolf's Dragoon's, Beta Regiment, Charlie Company.

Edit: I know that Wednesday nights is where the design comes from...and considering the timeline it's from I'm hoping it's permissible Monday's and Saturday's, too...can anyone vet it?

Yup, for some reason my brain always switches those two around. C4 should have 4 lasers ya know? :P

I don't like the reliance of just the small lasers for backup personally. It is kinda similar to the awesome in that regard, once something gets within 90m you just throw up your arms and go "whelp, I guess I'm shooting your buddy farther out while you rip me up". Catapult at least has JJs and some ok speed to get away.

Excuse my 80's lingo.

Wait, wait...meaning you gotta play the PPC uber sniper as a support mech...and rely on teammates in CQB? :)

Yup, fortunately the stock armor on an awesome is amazing...

I do so love catching a big slow something out in the open and get to just chain fire 14 shots into it... :)

Yesterday was a blast! Looking forward to Wednesday.

A little heads up, there is a league that is just re-opening that has several options to play stock mechs if any of your units are interested! We took part in it previously and enjoyed it very much and plan on participating again.

Check it out here: http://innerspherewars.eu/

The more stock friendly units that sign up the better ;)

Unless you want to grind C-Bills to buy stock mechs. ;)

I'm out of mechbays so I now have absolutely no reason to grind c-bills ;)

I still have some bays and mechs I want to buy. Still keep several of my heroes around just to grind with.

I built a poptart Cataphract thinking I'd use it to grind C-Bills and pad the wallet. Turns out I'm utterly average with a poptart. Must be all the self-loathing.

Or the fact that you fall asleep at the controls because it's so . . . damn . . . boooooring . . .

Edit: Aslo, FWIW, an "average" poptart will still roll over everything else that isn't itself a poptart.

What was the weight distribution this time around like? Which class was the least played, or most sought after?

If you take 3/3/3/3 and use all the smallest mechs per weight class, add it up. Then take all the largest, add it up. Then average the weight it comes out to 60 tons per person. So I've advised using that and it seemed to work last night.

I'll have to check that out! PS, you were scaring me with that Quickdraw last night...

Funny how that becomes the 'mid' weight. :)

Yea I think it's just skewed because the lightest you can go is 20 tons. Kind of like getting the average number between 2 and 10 rather than 0 and 10..

Oh I know why - got bored one day and did the math myself.

Just think it is funny (as in laughing funny) that they put the "mid weight" in the "heavy" category.

Even know why they did it that way - 4 weights in each (exception, Assaults get 5)

Just one of those little weird things in life that makes sense until you think about it, then doesn't make sense.... until you think about it. (which is funny itself :))

You are pretty average anyway... I kid, I kid :D

Couldn't do much grinding yesterday with all the wait time problems. I did manage to chase an ecm cicada off the map with my oxide since I had bap and he couldn't get away from me though. ;)
