Had fun last night, guys! First SMM I've been to in months. I've gotta say that the Forest Colony match with 4 weaponless mechs trying to ram each other to death was priceless! Too bad the Awesome forgot to equip his head small laser.

In an effort to stir this community up again and get some players back here, any interest in starting up a Stock Mech Monday tournament? If so, this is something I would happily organize for this community.

What sort of format do you have in mind? I'd certainly be interested.

My worthless opinion, but due to the community size and "stockiness" of the format, I'd like to see 2 Lance vs 2 Lance tournaments set up bracket-style. Ideal entry groups would be in 4-player lances, with an option to set up entries for single players or 2-player groups that want to join.

Final match, after one team of 2 lances remains, would be for both lances to go against each other on the smallest map we can find and determine which is truly the best lance.

Again, these are just what crossed my mind.

240 ton limit for the lance?

That's my thinking, yes. 60 tons per mech average, 240 tons per lance. Would eliminate specialized lances, perhaps, but ensure an even final match.

If we could find enough people, it could be interesting to have a small competition like that. Watch as I get slaughtered instantly in the competition though... (because that would be my luck.)

I think lance vs lance for the whole tournament would be more manageable than 8 vs 8.

I'm pretty sure I could get 3 of my (non-SMM-playing) unit mates to form a lance for a tournament.

Once they are out for c-bills, I'd gladly jump into an all Urbie tournament.
