They also have the authors on their side. Just like the Wolves

Ok, lets do that...
Factions currently do not mean a thing in MWO, there is no community warfare.
That about covers it.
Awww... I guess we should stop having fun discussing it then! Are you one of those sad new-gen gamers that can't use their imagination to fill in deficiencies in immersion because they're spoiled to great graphics and physics?
Maybe he's just grumpy because his merc company got played by one of the Houses. Gonna go with that one.

It started when I read my first novel with Archer Christofori as a Militia leader in Fed-Com space. Once he and fellow members started getting pushed around to much by a Steiner unit, enough was enough and the Fed-Com Civil War was off and running. Typically I could care less for political ambitions of other houses, but Katrina Steiner killing off her own mother was a cheap shot because of political ambitions.
Now i know the Davions are seen as the White Knights, but they make errors to. Victor Davion putting a double in place of Joshua Marik who succumbed to illness. Then there was the whole 4th Succession War biz, all because of a wedding gift.
I feel Victor Davion, tried to do good with House Kurita durign the Clan Invasion. After the Fed-Com War i dont know what happens so things couldve gone to shit in hand grenade.

Davions aren't cunning, they just have a room with a button that says "Press to Win" in their palace.

A. I'm probably old enough to be your dad. BTW, what's your mom's name again..??

B. Nope, on a side note most of my friends have gotten sick of things like CW in 90 days, I mean 6 months, I mean whenever.
I wish the houses did mean something at all, that's how Mercs get contracts..
Sorry that you got all twisted over my post (no i'm not), but MWO needs to be developed faster, i'm seeing more and more of the guys I dropped with just move on, I thought it was bad last summer after the so called official release geeesh.
Here since closed beta, and I have to tell ya, I put about 5% the time into playing MWO compared to what I used to.
Heard every excuse in the book, that's pretty much all that needs to be said.

Corbon Zackery is attached to Military Intelligence Strategies and Tactics Division.
During the end of the 4th session war intelligence reported a hidden catch of Star league mechs at a supply depot on Trellisane.
Captain Corbon Zackery lead 2 lances on the raid to Trellisane using the merchant Jumpship Bounty Joy to gain entry into the system. 2 Leopard class dropships made the initial drop at the supply depot. Everything was going well with light resistance. Until the Bounty Joy was challenged by 2 Vigilant class Corvettes. The Bounty Joy launched its aerospace fighters, and recalled both Leopard class dropships. The battle resulted in 1 Vigilant being destroyed the other was disabled and losing orbit. The Bounty Joy made the jump. Leaving Foxwolflance, and one heavily damaged Leopard on planet. The Leopard dropship could only be used for planetary flight. For one year Foxwolflance was stranded on planet. Mistaken for a bandit force. Foxwolflance lead several hit and run raids on Trellisane. Foxwolflance did have one problem they were very low on coolant. Foxwolflance was finally discovered by a ISN news team during a raid on a coolant plant on Trellisane. ISN news captured footage of a Phoenix Hawk leaving the plant carrying a coolant truck. The markings were identified, and a full military response was deployed. It was at that time the Star League base was surrounded. Captain Corbon Zackery ordered coolant to be syphoned from the base reactor. He fought a holding action until a relief force arrived. During the final evacuation of the staff the Star League base went into lockdown due to a core meltdown. As the final dropship left planet the reactor went supernova causing massive environmental damage to Trellisane.
To this day the Free World League still holds Captain Corbon Zackery personally responsible for the destruction of the Star League base.
In a latter ISN news interview Captain Corbon Zackery apologized for the deaths of millions but stated that it was a time of war. That the Lyran Commonwealth court of law supported, and exonerated Captain Corbon Zackery of all crimes charged by the Free World League blocking any extradition.

Hey, not to start anything but is House Kurita named after Admiral Kurita from WW2..?? Takeo Kurita..??

"Following the Japanese surrender, Kurita found work as a scrivener and masseur"...

.
"With Kurita's address in hand, a young American naval officer got out of a jeep and spotted the unimposing figure tending to his garden chores. Years later, he still vividly recalled the moment: "It really made an impression of me. The war was just over. Less than a year before Kurita had been in command of the largest fleet that was ever put together, and there he was out there chopping potatoes." [3]

Bah, the world trembled under the shadow of his Zeroes and the thunder of his battleships. No warrior stands on top forever. But perhaps you dirty peasants don't have any experience with being on top? ;-) "On the heights, the paths are paved with daggers."

The President of the United States takes pleasure in commending the
UNITED STATES SHIP BENNETT
[/center]
for service as follows:
“For outstanding heroism in action as a Fighter Direction Ship on Radar Picket Station Number 4, sixty miles northeast of Okinawa Transport Area, April 6–7, 1945. Fighting valiantly against more than fifty enemy aircraft making repeated savage attacks, the U.S.S. BENNETT sent up barrages of antiaircraft fire during a prolonged and furious air-sea battle commencing on the early morning of April 6. When two of our destroyers on near-by radar picket stations were severely damaged and left in a sinking condition on the evening of April 6, the BENNETT closed them to assist in combing the area for survivors. While continuing her rescue work, she beat off repeated attacks throughout the night and, with her own gunfire and that of the fighter aircraft which she was directing, destroyed a total of seventeen enemy aircraft, successfully avoiding damage to herself until the following morning. With her supply of ammunition seriously reduced, she was crashed by a fiercely burning Kamikaze whose bomb exploded with devastating effect and, although badly holed below the waterline and in the engineering spaces, succeeded in returning to port under her own power. A seaworthy, fighting ship, the BENNETT, her officers and men rendered invaluable service during a hazardous mission and upheld the finest traditions of the United States Naval Services.”

That's pretty neat! Not especially relevant in a thread about factional roleplay in a game where WWII is lost in the mists of time, mind you, particularly because we don't know if Lord Kurita is a descendant of that ancient admiral, but neat regardless.
Does the lack of activity mean that the other Houses concede Kurita is ultimately superior and should ascend to the head of a new Star League?

"House Kurita: One of five Successor States, it reacted to the weakening of the Star League Defence Force by declaring war on Everyone Else. Fortunately for them, everyone else was already to busy throttling each other to notice. This state combines the easy-going camraderie of the Japanese Tea Ceremony with the bureaucratic efficiency of the local Department of Motor Vehicles. It is said that five pillars hold the DC social order together: the Rice pillar, made of rolled up rice paper, signifies the DCMS's ability to make noise. The styrofoam pillar is a symbol of the DC's social flexibility. The other three pillars are whatever the hell the Coordinator says they are."
