So, mixing groups and pugs, even if it is a single lance group never bodes well for the game. One coordinated lance is enough to bring the decisive push to a game. Especially a vet group of 4 people, getting into a game with predominantly new players, will just swipe the field.

It was never balanced in any game nor will be. I don't want to be forced to join a clan/merc corp just to have some fun. Even though I'm thinking about it because I do like the game.

Split Group and Solo Sign-Ups. I don't think the playerbase of the game is too low for that.

When that 'deciding 4-man' is on YOUR team, do you apologize to the other team and complain about being grouped with pre-mades?

I hate the argument that you may get the pre made. Its broken but it may favour you sometimes so its okay. No.

Still not broken...but I'd gladly support the addition of a solo-only queue if it would shut up everyone who complains that an evil pre-made ate their baby.

I have a dream. A world where PUGs and Premades can play together side by side in harmony. One day...one day...

This is were the balance factor comes in. Winning with a Premade against a PUG is as boring as losing with a PUG against a Premade. This is also why I can 't take anyone serious who makes a positive statement about it. It throws things off balance. Queuing solo and group players is _never_ optimal. No use to argue about that.

Half the time I have a 4-man on my side in a Pug drop we lose anyway because the 4 decide to wander off and do their own thing and just assume everyone else is going to follow them.

Still, I predict 7 pages minimum. The echo chamber loves these ones.

This could be wrong, but I was under the impression that there will always be 1 "pre-made" on the opponents side when you get a "pre-made" on your side.
If this is still true, it sounds pretty balanced to me.

Besides, the idea that "pre-mades" are ruining the PUG Queue is an urban legend, so really there's nothing to be concerned about at all

I think I had that dream once... It turned into a nightmare when I started getting chased by an invisible HG Unseen and I got legged and stuck on a rock I couldn't see at the same time, so no matter how much I throttled up, I didn't move anywhere. I tried to JJ off it, but there was no forward thust on JJs, so it didn't help. I tried to scream for help, but in-game VoIP wasn't integrated yet, so nobody could hear me. Then I tried typing for help, but someone starting hitting me with an AC2, so I started to run away, but the chat window was still up, so it looked like "what am I stuck onwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" and when I hit F4 to see my legs, that guy who said last summer that he'd TK anybody using 3PV showed up and started shooting me too.

It changes things up between games for me. I like having premades around. Sure, there's the smart ones and the coordinated ones and the ones with callout macros and a plan and whatnot, but there's also the wacky ones, the nonstop offense LSLs, the light wolfpacks and the LRM boat lances. And there's the pure shitty ones. While premades do affect the outcome of the game more than pugs, on average I'd say it doesn't degrade my experience as a pugger.

also wasn't it one premade per side? (if not, that is a little silly, but hardly egregious). Also MM, should not be sticking Vets vs pure n00bs. Though many "vets" still play like n00bs.

It's also funny how much less a boogeyman premades are if PUGs actually remotely try to coordinate. Nothing elaborate, just sticking roughly together, and using a little tactical awareness, commonsense, and the "advantage" of the premade can be minimized, most often.

(I've been in the pre made with 8 PUGs who derped off, and faced a semi-organized PUG team..and lost, because 10-12 semi coordinated guys usually still beat 4)

I've also been the PUG when the Pre-Made decided to make a "Long Flank" in Assault mechs (CompSpeak for letting the PUGs eat the damage, drain their ammo and poke holes in the OpFor, so the Premade can stack their stats coming in after and getting easy kills even if they still lose the match.), and cost us the match because they were simply there statwhoring.

Why is this the only game where I hear people ***** about premade groups?

Literally every other game I play this is a non-issue.

Mostly because other games have instant multiple respawns. In a game where once your out, your out, this seems to be more of an issue. If I get owned, but can play the whole match, I am less likely to complain vs getting owned and being knocked out once permanently. Just IMO

And the Jason Voorhees showed up and things got really interesting...

I said this in another thread but basically even if they got a separate queue we'd have to hear about how it's still not fair because of....

Sync Dropped Evil Pre-made Try Hards.

There is always going to be a reason why someone got beat that has nothing to do with them not playing as well as the other guy, always some reason it's not fair. Sometimes it isn't, most times it is and you just get beat.
