Funny thing about this...I wonder about actual Arty/Air Strike damage buffing to scores. I have not done a scientific test where I have recorded stuff yet, but using LCT-3Sir NarcsaLot where my only offensive firepower IS Art/Air, I have seldom broken 200 damage. Now I might not be an Arty-Artiste, but I have an inkling that the matches where one's damage gets huge buffs from Arty, are a lot fewer and far between than people think (just as almost universally, I have found peoples reported "Average" match damage to shrink exponentially when one actually does the math, instead of going by gut because of the "good matches".)

Might have to try a 20 game run in the little booger and record my results. Mind you the real version I Had to strip the ams and a ton of narc ammo for heat sinks. Just never tweaked the Smurfy (do that now....LCT-3S)

Well, on a good one, I believe I actually got over 400 damage...I had died rather quickly into a match, only firing 3 or 4 alphas (at 40 damage each), which would only be 120/160 if they all hit, but my total damage was ~650.

There were 4 or more mechs clustered tightly when I used it, so I'm assuming the splash damage hit multiple.

Do we know how the arty damage is calculated? Is it 400+splash? Or when a shell hits the ground, it simply becomes splash damage with the damage getting weaker as it approaches the edge? And if a shell hits directly, just 40 damage and no splash?

With current stats the LBX wins the standard AC10 in following traits:
-runs cooler by a clear margin (AC10 is 50% hotter)
-has better projectile velocity (1100m/s vs 950m/s)
-takes less tonnage (11 vs 12)
-takes less room (6 vs 7, this also means you can put two of these in an Atlas for instance)
-destroys equipment and internal structure faster (effectively does 13dmg to IS per shot)

I think those bonuses are not to be overlooked even if it loses in pin point damage and ranged combat.
