I'm going to hazard a guess that the matchmaking algorithm will stay off, and on the 6th the only thing changed/added will be the 3/3/3/3 rule.
One queue for everyone and a rapidly declining player population.

What did you expect? A publicprivate lobby? You have to either be invited into a private lobby, or invite other people into your private lobby. Here is a hint if your friends list is offline while you are online... ask if people wish to play a private lobby on the forums...

Otherwise, what you just said is basically a public lobby, which is just hit launch a public match. It'd basically be the same thing... :) Unless you are expecting to have map selection or something else...

yeah half of it was a reaction to loosing the mode choices but really another thing is the lack of vets in the public queue was bad before private matches... now you'll see the odd c-bill grinder losing his shit cause the match quality is woefull by comparision and anyone else venturing into noobland. the whole public queue is becoming the derp fest. so either derp pug/ l33t lobby junkie for no rewards or go home.

did you ever think that this mentality is what is wrong with the game? Calling PUGs derp pugs and it being a 'derp fest'?

So... I play mostly, if not just about completely, in the public games as a PUG. Should I take this comment as insulting and you calling me a derp?

Anyway, point making aside (as I'm not really feeling insulted), I do play a lot of PUG matches as a solo player. I have not been seeing what you are describing with my teammates. Occasionally I may see a teammate (sometimes even myself) do something stupid due to lack of communication or being singled out/in a bad location. Most of the time, I have been seeing a lot of communication (even non-verbal/textchat versions if you know what to look out for) and a lot of good matches with good players. Maybe it's an Elo thing?

I'd have to say, I'd like it if you shelved that elitist attitude. 12 mans and premades is not an indication of more or less skill to the solo pug player. I almost dare say that a PUG player almost needs to be more skilled to preform well than a premade or 12 man...

Private lobbies is so that, people want to have that trial of advancement for their clan? Now they can. You want to have that mini-tournament (Marik Civil war comes to mind), you may. You want to play with a group of friends or create a "Stock mech only league" you can. Private matches opened up a lot of options to the more competitive crowd. These competitive crowds I think would still rather have no ingame rewards and be able to preform their competitions unhindered than not be able to preform them at all. (It can also let the "I'm bigger and badder than you are" "No I am better than you. My Mech laodout is superior to yours" people duke it out in 1v1 play, if they really wish to.)

Still waiting here to be matched against these mythical beasts called "12 Men" teams. I hope I get to see one, if they really exist.

Just had one tonight.
I expect there is a hot patch in the works for ASAP implementation?

This has got to be one of the worst possible weeks for online gaming I've ever experienced with multiple games melting down.

12 mans are indeed being placed against PUG teams in the public queue, and while it is not a reflection on any one's PUG ability, the lack of comms makes it seem like a DERP fest. My team last night had a training night and couldn't get another group to drop in a private match so we went public...and it was entirely one sided. Worst match was when the green DC placed our team into a corner and we had extremely poor focus fire, yet we still won 12 kills to 4 deaths. Every other match was 12-0 or 12-1. It was the least exciting string of wins I have ever had in MWO, and I still saw some good lance work out there...but it just can't compete vs. an entire group using comms. In 10 matches, not one was against another 12 man.

The one bonus PUG's have right now when in this situation is that the OPFOR 12 has to drop using 3/3/3/3 still, but it just doesn't make much of a difference.

If you have not dropped against a 12 team (look for the 3/3/3/3) its likely because most team 12's are focusing on the private queue. Tonight my team did nothing but private lobbies, and we hope the bug is fixed soon, and that some 12's out there still want to drop in a 12 man only public queue.

The window for ASAP implementation of a hotfix came and went days ago.

This is not a problem. There are no 12 mans dropping within PUG groups. What? That announcement? I... don't know what you are talking about... ;)

(Do consider he posted that before the official announcement went up. To be honest, I have not yet dropped against a 12 man group. Though I believe it could happen, espesually when I read in another thread from a 12 man group that they dropped against PUGs... Announcement just made it official is all.)
