I've been crunching numbers and looking up the specs of the Annihilator which people said would be too broken because people would just fit it with 4 Gauss Rifles and go to town.

But would it be viable? The biggest thing I see wrong with the Annihilator is its speed. The stock Annihilator comes with a 200 Grade Engine and moves just as fast as an UrbanMech. That speed would translate to its aiming ability and just turning from one side to another would probably take around 5 seconds. Sure, it could stand in the back and snipe but the moment a light comes around, I don't see it being capable of hitting it with such slow movements and wouldn't it be taller than an Atlas?

Well just like the Urbanmech the thing can be devastating in urban combat where speed becomes less of an issue. However, PGI has yet to present us with a true urban map with a lot of corners and only a handful of open spaces (can we get one, please?). When such a map comes around, we're gonna see a completely new Meta. Until then, the Annihilator can still be deadly under the right conditions but too slow to get anywhere with its weapons loadout.

No it would not be OP.

Yes, people would whine about it and eventually call for burst fire gauss rifles.

Plus wouldnt ammo be a huge limitation? I for one wouldnt mind seeing the Annihilator, it would be pretty freaking sweet

I don't care if it would be OP. I want to slug away with quad gauss.

Dunno. I'd go quad Ultra/5's + backup with current gameplay though; beast at all ranges :)

Or quad LBX, just for grins.

Quad LBX, because the Meta Knights (Get it? God, I'm old...) would never see it coming.

Doesn't have hands - but it does have the elbow - no AC/20 in the arm.

But would Nightmare see it coming?
He/she/it is the one I would be more worried about.

In short, yes it would be to certain people. People find ways to complain about anything that directly counters them or kills them too quickly. But that said. PGI has already stated that a model for the Mauler has been made and is just waiting implementation. And on Russ twitter, he has expressed interest in the King Crab making the game (will need a bit to relocate the sources for both claims here, sorry). So its not like the thing would have something that others in the possible future wouldn't. And you can bet money on the Diashi running dual uac20 if pgi doesn't place a hard locked double heat sink in the arms.

I want an Annihilator, without a doubt. Its just going to be way to slow.

Yeah, but Jaeger loses 35 tons to this bad boy. Annihilator could do Quad Ultra-5's, max armor, a Large Laser or two, and a 300 STD or so. I would think. Been a while since I worked one up in like a MekWars mechbuilder or something.

You could probably eject a steady cone of death before you! Or, well, a steady cone of light armor damage at the least ;)

But it would be fun for insta-gibbing lights :D

I persoanlly want the Annihilator more than any other mech, yes slow , and HUGE, but very fun. Imagine 4 gauss, hitting you 1 every second for 4 seconds, that would be annoying ashell. With alot of ammo.

Or, hell, gimme the 8x Light AC/2 version.

It may not be effective, but my god would it be gloriously annoying.

Something this dangerous and slow would surely attract airstrikes/artillery like nobodies business.

I dont see a problem here.
