You don't fund early-access games on what they promise the game will be. You fund them on what they are on the day you purchase. Anything else is just icing and more bang for your buck.
Thats not completely true. Its a common practice in business to show a prototype to investors who then invest in you based on your claims of what the final product will be.
Many people claim that the packages are a good deal. If you go by the declared values of PGI, you do save money. However this assumes that you do actually want to use everything in the package.
There are many legendary founders out there who regretted buying the legendary package because they ended up with 3 junk mechs and a sub par one, MC they cant spend on anything except premium time, hero mechs and cosmetic items, and premium time they never intended to use till community warfare was in (because its just a arena shooter now). So in the end, the package wasnt a very good deal at all.
Its a common marketing strategy to give "freebies" to encourage purchase, but most often these freebies are of little use to the customer. I got a junk watch with a purchase of hair gel a while back, it was the cheapest and most horrible plastic watch i have ever seen, more like a toy really...so in the end i got nothing extra.
And the value of the freebies are often exaggerated wildly.
