I am sick and tired of listening to Dead Men Ranting! The names they call you are well names, stick and stones and all that other crap. The dirther the name, the smaller their; well balls in my book.

This get worst if your playing assualt and you are the last man standing and decide to use the turrets as a deterant.

You could not stop the Dead Men from rushing off one at a time to get slaugthered (doing less than 100 points while dying). Shows a lack of intelligence on their part. Yet they are bound and determined to call you those names for playing smart and trying to give the enemy a run for their money.

It doesn't matter to the Dead Ranters that you had the highest damage, touched the most mechs or had the most kills. Their piddly ass 20 points of damage they did gives them the right though to call you everything in the book.

So to all you Dead Ranters, Keep your comments till after the score window appears and if you have more kills, more damage and more assists; then Rant cause you got a right too. But if you only got 20 points, keep your mouth shut! Go back to the tutorials and learn how to run your mech. If thats too hard for you then go back to playing "Mario Cart" cause that is all your capable of!

If I died with 20pts of damage you can bet there will be a well placed comment or two in chat and not for my own benefit, but to let the other team know the situation so they don't get the idea I'm easy pickens.

Example: If you use a mech for cover, don't be surprised when the mech turns around and uses you for target practice when you impede his/her movement. I've got a pair of elementals I dangle from my CT just for teabagging losers who cost me 90% of my armor because they leg-hump my rear in an attempt to ride some coattails.

Here is the thing about dead man ranting. PUGs are idiots. PUGs do stupid things all of the time. PUGs are the end of what should be clean and easy games. When people rant, it is typically because they push and the PUGs don't which leaves them to die horribly for no reason. People rant when you lose a Conquest game due to idiot PUGs wanting to play it in Skirmish mode. People rant when people take D-DCs and other ECM mechs but don't equip them with ECM. People rant when PUGs move to the worst spots on a map only to die because it is absolutely the worst spot on the map. People rant when horribads decide to test their weapons into the back of their teammates at the beginning of the game. People also rant when idiots stand out in the open and die horribly for no reason other than they're just incapable of understanding the game.

In the end, if you don't like people ranting, don't be the one making the mistakes.

There should just be no way for dead pilots to communicate with live pilots.

Let the dead pilots just talk amongst themselves.

While I like your idea, the problem is dead pilots make better company commanders than live pilots.

Don't pay attention to chat until you're dead? Problem solved.

Except that no. That entire paragraph is ignoring the fact that sometimes you are dead because you are dead. Sometimes you did something stupid. Sometimes no one is to blame. ALL the time you shouldn't treat people like lower lifeforms. I have many well organized PUG games. Sometimes with chat sometimes just with everyone paying attention. Your belief that PUGs are always the problem because they are ALL stupid is insulting.

I have seen people charge, die and blame the team. No, you aren't allowed to do that. If you charge, inform the team. 90% of the time it is not the teams fault.

Just be nice to people. That's all. Sometimes I die because others didn't push but I've never yelled and cursed everyone out in Chat. Sometimes it is other people's fault, it happens. But there is a way to be polite about it.

The dead ranting, cursing, insulting and just being d***s is probably the most annoying thing I come across day to day in MWO.

I'll give you that one, Eyeone. If I rant, and I only really do it after a long streak of head scratching obsurdity by randoms, it is always because of something that I listed. Truth is, and I would do it if I could, I'd rant against myself if I had the capability because sometimes I do some of the dumbest stuff while trying to push the violence of action. But, that is also where the source of my anger begins because I'm trying to get the group in a cohesive manner only to get hung out to dry because someone shot at them.

So, lockwoodx, let's clarify:

- When you die, you are going to announce to the other team that your team sucks (because that's "the situation", right? and you already dead so they know you're "easy pickens")
- If your teammate is behind you, and you bump into them, you are going to shoot them

Sound like a good person to avoid, all-in-all.

I tend to find them mostly amusing. It is the Scott Teneman effect.

Fair enough. Sometimes that happens. I see it on the other side more I think. I've had people swearing at the team "DON'T GO TO KAPPA MORONS!!". I kept asking him what he wanted us to do instead and he just kept calling us stupid for going to Kappa. I asked him to take command and issue some orders (I will gladly follow orders) but no, he just wanted to curse at us.

And, usually if I do something dumb I apologize for being stupid in chat. :(

Probably not along the same lines, but:

I have one rule

"Everyone fights, Nobody Quits"

I see you shutdown with your nose in the wall in skirmish mode trying to prolong the match by hiding - I call that bad sportsmanship for wasting everyone's time and will Benedict Arnold you from the cheap seats in match chat.

Even so, I moved this thread to k-twon, I'd like to remind all participants, that insults, directed at one person or at a group, are not acceptable for any other part of the forums or the game.

They always tell a bigger story about the person who is throwing the insult, then about the one they attempt to target. And let me tell you: It is not a positive story!

As a Dead Man

And one who enjoys a good rant

I feel like you shouldn't

be so prejudiced against the life

impaired

most of my friends are

Dead men

and if we muzzled them

life would be pretty dull

full of hilarious pictures

but still very very quiet.

any here's your standard greeting:

Greetings!

Welcome to KAETETôã

Home of the MODS

It is here that we Forge

Terrible threads into bad threads

Bad threads into good threads

And good threads into great threads.

If this thread is new to k-town it is

probably because it is terrible

worry not we are making it better already.

K-town does have 10 Commandments*

*10 for for now

We also have the Sacred Pages penned by the MODS themselves

And

The Gospel of the MODs written by Acolyte of the Word RoadBeer

Also

Enjoy the BATTLE HYMN OF THE MODS / POST LERIAN JIHAD WAR CHANT

Please review these so you too

Can post better and enjoy the blessings of the MODs

While avoiding being smote first

In the coming Digipocalyse.

Praise the MODS, Tremble before the ELDER MODS.

Also part of our family here is the

Post Lerian Jihad

“We Post better than you”

Their mission of speaking truth to stupid

And civilizing not just the wilds

But all of the forums.

Enjoy your stay here in K-town

Mostly, I just kind of try to boil down what ever I am thinking at the moment, and then do an image search on that. I think in this case, I just googled "my team sucks." I felt like this image really captured the id of this particular thread. Other times, I already have an idea what it is I want, and can be a little more specific.

The amount of wonderful images to be found on the intarwabs sometimes amazes me.
