Hows the Patcher working? Any major difficulties? Please let us know!

- Transition to .NET 4.0 (XP users can download and install .NET 4.0 here)
- The Repair Tool can be used to resolve most issues with installation or patching.

I get an error message version mismatch I ran the repair tool but still get the error msg.

Same. Complete reinstall did not help either

Latest patch fixed the version mismatch error, game starts up just fine now!

Possible it started up fine yesterday. But this morning (EU time) it said "Play", I log in, it says it needs a patch again, patches the same 4 gig, and version mismatch is back.... So... thanks for that. Back on the same square again.

Yes., if I start writing the code myself it will work, I have seen that already. But the idea of reporting bugs is that they get a working client. That is kinda why the forums exist.
And I got the patch that made it work again. And when I come into the game, all the setting is back to fabric mode. So I have to change the graphics to my computer specs. When I change graphics, I have to restart the client.And when I restart the client, the 4 gig patch is there again and yet another mismatch will happen. Your patches are in a loop right now that do not break (unless you code it yourself, apparently) Might want to look into that because in effect, it is still impossible to play the game as it is meant to be.

Update now I sometimes get in to the game sometimes it wants to download 4 gig patch if I then shut down patcher a few times I then get the play option but then when I log on it says I need a patch.

I have ticket of this case.
Behaviour:
"
I tried once, didn’t ask patch, but I didn’t start game.
After that when I started game (16:20) Patch. Didn’t do that.
Started again, no patching, on login, “error occurred” there is newer version available.” After that exit.
Stated game. And that’s okay.
Started again  error at login again.  Exit
Started again  patch  (no patching) exit
Started again  login error
Started again and game starts :D ;) B) "

It seems to be at scandinavian problem, or is it?

Oh, I can add some more info on the problem, if you can not duplicate the problem yourselves. The launcher, when it try to install the 4 gig problem patch, show ads for several weeks old campaigns. Easter colors, 5 wins gets you a Blunderbolt and the Hero mech sale. So the launcher seems to think the date is a month back in time. When it is installed, you close the launcher and start it again, it shows up to date ads. Do not know if it helps you locate it, but thought I would put it here. There is a loop going here, and the loop seems to think it is different dates.

Have the same problem. I think I have downloaded that 4 GB patch like 5 times today. Right now it totally stuck in a loop and I cant get in at all. Running the repairtool once again but no luck. Fun times PGI!

Harafnir mentions seeing ads for old campaigns when the '4GB patch' is installed. I can confirm that.

Having this exact same issue here too, live in sweden.

I keep having to patch it over and over and if i get to login it tells me it has either a mismatched version or that a new patch is ready and i should shut down client to patch. I managed to get it to work by using the repair tool earlier today but this afternoon it's the same thing again

Likewise, I keep getting patch requests of 4 GB. After having performed patch, no problem gaming. Then shut it down, come back some hours later and wham.

"There is a new patch."

And I'm forced to patch again.

Please advise. If you need more info I will provide if able, will watch this thread.
