If I met a woman who said she was turned on by video game vanity items, maybe...but until then that money is probably much better spent on bills, clothes, food, booze and jewelry... you know, real world things that actually turn women on.

I don't know who set the price point on those silly things, but I don't think I'd ever consider $500.00 "disposable income" even if I won the lottery or something crazy like that.

It's a long list.

Unfortunately, I bought the Overlord package and was pretty much completely dissatisfied with what it provided me. $80 for about 3 mediocre chassis, all the Phoenix variants (the special ones) were the most inferior in the package. It's an error I will never make again with PGI. If one of the mechs had been, say, as awesome as the Ilya even I'd probably have already bought a Clan package. If I had reason to trust that Clan mechs and equipment would be good I'd have no issue dropping $500 on a game - I get a lot of hours out of it, if it was fun and satisfying enough then there's no shame in paying for what you enjoy.

Currently though I play because I'm in a bit of a mood for shoot-em-up and stompy robots are nice. I'd be hard pressed to call it 'Battletech' and when we start dropping Clan/IS together in matches then 'Battletech' is just a logo for this game.

I confess - it's frustrating to have money to spend and to want to spend it on something but to realize that if you did, you'd just end up regretting it.

I would rather have the mech package, it will last a lot longer. Strip clubs are a racket designed to use a man's hormones to drain his wallet. It's like a dog paying you to hang a steak in front of his nose that he can't eat. Hookers I understand, but strippers... nope.

Mechs are better than both, especially if you're married and don't need to chase it anymore.

I feel like having a gold mech is like painting a giant bullseye on yourself. You instantely become public enemy number 1 on the battlefield.

Besides what if the servers get shut down shortly after they launch?
