Working as intendedTM. Just like the matchmaker that puts high-Elo meta 4-mans vs casual LOL-build 4-mans.

On a serious note ... yeah, some favorites playing each other in the first round - lame. But ... if you want to win it all you'll have to win vs any team anyway, so why it matters if its first round or last round?

Regardless, got a lot of friends playing in this, so best of luck guys and gals.

Well the Problem is that games get potentially more boring during the midstages of the tournament which should not be the case. It seems like the maindecision which Teams will be going to the halffinal will be made during the first stage. All those stages in between will be less entertaining. Those matches should get more exciting by every subsequent stage since better teams are selected througout each single stage. Also there is not so much room for dissapointments - for me one of the interesting things in such a tourney is the possibility of Top-Teams loosing early on to some Unknown Teams and the possibilty which is low anyway gets even lower when ~1 half of the Top-Teams get eliminated by each other in the first round.

Moreover for all those teams that dont expect to win it all and just want to see how far they can go and where they stand in comparance to other teams this seedingsystem sucks. I guess some teams will have decent changes to get all the way through to the quaterfinals which is only the case because of the bad distribution of the better teams out there...

For the Teams eager to win this Tournament its of course no big deal... they need to win against the Top-Tier Players anyway.

I wonder how many teams will forfeit because they don't have enough people during their workday scheduled match times...

Hopefully none since they shouldn't have signed up if it would be an issue.

HoL isn't a clan/guild/group. HoL is a teamspeak based community. Many lords have their own team at the same time, like Ignotus, others are freelance pilots.

Clan/Guild/Group/Community. Hell, my old bunch called itself a "syndicate". Didn't mean we got to field 2 teams in tournaments.

I'm sorry, I know English is a second language for you, but I have no idea what you're asking.

Well, there aren't any build restrictions so it could be literally anything.

Personally, I'm expecting a large number of Jenners, Embers, Shadowhawks, Cataphracts, Victors, and Highlanders - at least in the matches against the more practiced comp teams. But you'll probably see a little bit of everything throughout the course of the whole event.

To be honest, I understand that this is the first tournament and that not everyone gets in. That's fine and no buggy but there are things that kind if piss me off.

For starters a few of my guys couldn't sign up because the website wouldn't let them, days before the end if sign ups. That is expected. So we only had 14 that signed up. So we asked a gm through e-mail if they could remedee it. We got a generic copy paste reply saying they can't help us and GOOD LUCK IN THE TOURNAMENT when clearly we aren't in. The not getting selected part is disappointing but expected, getting dismissed with a copy/paste reply that clearly doesn't even address the issue is insulting, even more-so when some of us got MC with the intent of getting premium time due to a perceived increase in interest from PGI....then we get a generic "can't help you, good luck in the tournament" reply. Leaves a bad taste in my and my corp-mates mouths.

That sucks - you should send a PM to Niko, maybe he'll do something for ya.

Good luck teams! Sorry I won't be bothering to follow the poptart live stream! xD But good luck winning Hero Mechs nonetheless!

Rarely does HARD Corp. run poptarts...not sure if we'll be able to out "META" everyone...but we do take skill seriously.

It's not a question of having action be taken. It's a question of respect and being taken seriously. We represent a corp that has 37 active members and about 100 that come and go from time to time. Between us, we have given PGI over $500 this month alone. To receive such a blatently uninterested reply from a rep is making quite a few of us (me included) feel that they aren't interested in the community at all.

All what I want is a some sort of list of all players, ther mechs & loadouts & modules and so on. Personaly I bet there will be no single gauss in finals.

Well, there's a list of the teams' rosters available here, but people don't have to announce which 'Mechs (or loadouts, or modules, or anything else) they plan on using each game, so there's just no way to get that information until the games are actually being played.

I understand where you're coming from, but one poor customer service rep doesn't represent the entirety of PGI (you ever worked customer service / support desk? It freakin' blows goats, man - easy job to get burned out on). That's why I suggested talking directly with Niko, he's a very cool down-to-earth guy.

If you want to get loadouts, you will have to watch the streams and get them yourself, unless someone else steps up to gather that data. Anything prior to drop is subject to change and likely trolling to throw opponents off anyways.

The great thing about this tournament is going to be the spectator mode and feeds, btw. I don't care to participate (yet), but spectating is going to be amazing.

Yeah, probably not. Some of the top teams use gauss mechs, but usually only in matches that have restrictions like "no jump jets" or "no PPCs" as you see sometimes in the Marik Civil War league.
