We certainly remain passionate about our game, which is why we could not let it suffer from being too demanding on the average users system. As was has been pointed out by a number of players, we have had to tone down some of the graphical elements of the game in order to allow these players in.
Does this mean the end of those qualities forever? Certainly not. We still have a great deal of optimization work ahead of us and improvements to the average users specifications will allow us to push even further.
I for one don't care much about the graphics. My personal experience is that since beta, my frames have literally doubled, from ~10-15 to 25 on average.
It's the gameplay that really makes me miss the old game. It was, quite simply, much funner. Stock mech matches help with that, but the balance back then actually had the whole rock-paper-scissors approach, where SRMs would beat the Gausscat if it got close. As it stands in game, SRMs are rubbish, and the long range weapons actually brawl better than some of the short range weapons, since they have better methods of applying damage and such similar cooldowns, the spread damage just can't compare.
The game is so stale in comparison to back then...
