We certainly remain passionate about our game, which is why we could not let it suffer from being too demanding on the average users system. As has been pointed out by a number of players, we have had to tone down some of the graphical elements of the game in order to allow these players in.
Does this mean the end of those qualities forever? Certainly not. We still have a great deal of optimization work ahead of us and improvements to the average users specifications will allow us to push even further.
I think MW:0 may be among the most graphically toned down title that I've had the opportunity to play in the last few years. It certainly does not make good use of my 780Ti.
Companies tend to publish titles that "up-scale" graphics especially to cater for high-end machines - not the other way around. Even certain games had "HD packs" to vastly improve their graphics.
MW:0 has never been mentioned in any Nvidia graphics update - no improvements nothing. Yesterday I switched on DX11 and TXAA to see whether it has improved any - nope - still extremely bad frame rates, slow down, unexplained jerkiness and pauses in certain areas and generally sluggish and I can't see any improvements over DX9.
Moral of the story: Yes by all means we have to cater to those who may not have the most whizzbang PC hardware, but that's what graphics options are there for. Currently, switching things to "Very high" on the options menu - does not do anything except slow things down even further (with the exception of textures). Your brightness, gamma and motion blur options don't even work and the game's still stuck in DX9 when every other AAA title has moved on to DX11??!!!
