is that so wrong? :P

Yes it is. You guys sound like a bunch of old women yacking about the good old days.
"Oh! The environmental effects used to make me wet!"
They are still there, they simply changed them. They will change them again when it suits them.
Graphically it looks better since DX11 came in...or am I the only one who noticed?
What is with you guys?

Then can you explain to me how an FX 8320 @ 4.8 GHZ + R9 290 Tri-X + 12 GB of DDR3 only get 30 FPS With extreme FPS drops bellow 20.

I'm in the same boat. I'm running a an i7 at 4 ghz with a gtx770 and 8gb of ram. And i get really ****** performance on max settings. I now run only 2 settings on very high with the rest either being low or medium just to get 50-60 fps. This drops to 30 on river city and when i use thermal though.

Back in beta the game looked better and i could run it smooth at max settings. And that was with a gtx580 o.O

Also these days forest colony looks like someone smeared vaseline over the screen.

Some fixes:
1. Engines should only affect speed.
2. Torso twisting speed and up/down movement speed should be locked per variant.
3. No more Speed Tweak.
4. Heat sinks should only affect heat dissipation.
5. Double Heat Sink dissipation should be double SHS dissipation.
6. Weapon cooldowns should be increased, making for slower rate of fire for all weapons.
7. Weapon extended ranges should be reduced to 0.5x or even to zero, making small maps larger and big maps huge. Oh yeah, and most 'Mech combat would happen within 300 meters, like it does in the lore.
8. Max engine rating should be reduced on all 'Mechs, to something like (stock rating + 15).
9. Max armor rating should be based on stock armor rating, something like (stock tonnage + 2 tons).
10. Base sensor range should be class-dependent, something like 1200 meters for lights, 1000 meters for mediums, 800 meters for heavies, and 600 meters for assaults.
11. More rewards for doing scouty things.
12. R&R.
13. Heat Capacity should be static for all 'Mechs, modified only by variant quirks.
14. There should be movement and weapon penalties for running hot, something like 50% increased cooldown, some reticle shake similar to when jump jets are active, and 50% reduced speed, starting at 75% of Heat Capacity.
15. Turn radius should be determined by speed and 'Mech tonnage.
16. Collisions.

Yes, I want 'Mechs to be slower and less maneuverable.
Yes, I want 'Mechs to have different armor maximums, to make them feel more like they were designed to be.
Yes, I want weapons to have a slower rate of fire, especially the FLD weapons.
Yes, I want combat to happen at closer ranges.
Yes, I want heat to matter more than "Am I shutdown or not?".
Yes, I want to have players learn some fire discipline and not alpha all damn day.
Yes, I want players to stop face- and back-hugging, and better control range.
Yes, I think these changes would greatly benefit the game.

I would buy MC for this game.

It's like the part OP mentions about the glowing eyes- yeah they were cool, but they had to go because they meant you could see the Atlas from a mile off.

Forest Colony + Atlas's Glowing Eyes = tons of headshots on Atlases (back in CB)

I play Dark Souls 1 and 2, damnit. I like games with depth and challenge. MWO is missing a lot of that and has been since HSR started being implemented (and all the other changes around that time and since then).

Ya know, I am getting tempted to make my own complaint of things I believe are wrong. Seems a trend, went looking for something WMO related, found a bunch of Reddit 'topics' on MWO complaints that make this forum look tame.
A question on MWO hate, 1 year ago.
Someone digging into the company, a few months ago.
An idea to compile what some see as a bunch of problems, just a month ago.

not exactly the equation.

Forest Colony + Old Spawn Point + Atlas' Glowing Eyes + Gauss-a-Pult = 7 v 8, 1 second into match. :D

We certainly remain passionate about our game, which is why we could not let it suffer from being too demanding on the average users system. As has been pointed out by a number of players, we have had to tone down some of the graphical elements of the game in order to allow these players in.

Does this mean the end of those qualities forever? Certainly not. We still have a great deal of optimization work ahead of us and improvements to the average users specifications will allow us to push even further.

I think MW:0 may be among the most graphically toned down title that I've had the opportunity to play in the last few years. It certainly does not make good use of my 780Ti.

Companies tend to publish titles that "up-scale" graphics especially to cater for high-end machines - not the other way around. Even certain games had "HD packs" to vastly improve their graphics.

MW:0 has never been mentioned in any Nvidia graphics update - no improvements nothing. Yesterday I switched on DX11 and TXAA to see whether it has improved any - nope - still extremely bad frame rates, slow down, unexplained jerkiness and pauses in certain areas and generally sluggish and I can't see any improvements over DX9.

Moral of the story: Yes by all means we have to cater to those who may not have the most whizzbang PC hardware, but that's what graphics options are there for. Currently, switching things to "Very high" on the options menu - does not do anything except slow things down even further (with the exception of textures). Your brightness, gamma and motion blur options don't even work and the game's still stuck in DX9 when every other AAA title has moved on to DX11??!!!

problem is all the "dirt" they are adding, the film grit, the other atmospherics to make it look like saving private ryan, require huge amounts of resources to run, and thus, in the end of the day they are taking a long, inefficient route to land us at what they could have done with lower fidelity graphics to begin with.

Holy **** missiles used to be awesome. Why the hell do they not look like that anymore.

Heck I even like some of those old sound effects.

One thing I was shocked to notice, the sound of ammo popping off after a critical hit set it off, and then you see the mech start to get rocked, and finally dies. AWESOME!!!

What about it looks better? They aren't really using any dx11 specific capabilities, so I'm curious as to what you think changed in terms of actual graphical fidelity.

I agree with your post but this isn't entirely true. MW:O has been mentioned just not in a long time on Nvidia updates as well as Nvidia doing that promotion for the Fairy cockpit item a long while back, but I think all of those times was when the graphics looked like they did in the OPs video.

Seeing as the devs even said that it wouldn't be doing anything for improved graphics when they released DX11 I can say he is either talking out his ass or is under some sort of placebo effect.

It took 2 years odd for them to finally give us the option to switch off the "dirt" and "blind" effects. That's resources wasted on implementing DoF, motion blur, film grain, cockpit glass and enviromental effects that I end up switching off any way because having them on is like giving a free kick to your opponents.

But yeah my 780Ti chokes when DX11 is switched on - it was particularly noticeable when you are under the tunnel in River City and it continues there on - with unpredictable slow downs in graphics and progressively getting worse when you get into a fight with another Mech.

Half ton ammo was never in the game at any point though the CN9-AH was an actual mech you could use in the game, then it disappeared and the YLW came out.

I have a theory that it's an issue isolated to large die GPUs with lots of shaders. I know people with slow GPUs that get better frame rates with the same CPU or worse. I don't know what they are doing but it's really ruining the experience for some gamers.
