Better stop thinking about LRM. They are broken and deal 1dmg each volley. So better skip it and use what everybody uses.

The best LRM chassi can carry 2 Gauss. Take the Cathapract. It s the best boat now. Just make a missel Sound with your lips when you shoot the Gauss...and everything is fine.

Yeah I forgot to mention that there were more backup weapons. Thanks for catching that. 3H does look pretty nice for LRM boating. I'm just used to seeing Stalker LRM boats always being 5Ms, so I kinda glanced over that (everyone makes mistakes!). :D

I'm pretty sure they are going to fix missles. Haven't heard any confirmation from PGI, but it sounds like when they added Clan LRMs in, somehow the scaling effected all missles, and they didn't test it because they were adding in a new weapon. I've seen this kind of mistake done many times by other developers, so I'm not too worried, they'll fix it.

Haven't driven the HGNs but in my opinion, the best boats in the game currently (not including Clans) are the ON1-V, BLR-1S and the AWE-8R.

Shameful how little love the AWE-8R is getting in this thread...especially when it used to be THE LRM boat before ghost heat. Never really cared for the Stalkers shooting off 6 or 10 LRMs at a time. Sometimes, you need to throw 50-60 tubes at once at a target 250m away from you. Yes, I know one of them can hold 20s in the arms but I don't own that one.

IraqiWalker is right...the Atlas is a poor choice for a LRM "boat" (not sure I count what it can carry as a boat). And before you mention that I don't know about Atlases, they were my main ride for most of CB...I think I ended up with almost 1 million unused XP on them combined.

I've gotten 800+ damage in a Dragon before...doesn't mean I'd recommend it to everyone as a safe choice.

Been running my Oxide in the Public test. With the SRM fix, it's gone from a complete joke, to a viable hunter-killer. Toss in quad SRM 4s and 5 tons of ammo, and it's pretty lethal. the reinforced legs are a nice bonus as well.

Best light Missile boat however is the Kit Fox D, thing carries more LRMs than a Catapult.

For me, the goto assault lrm boat is the AWS-8V. it's stupidly easy to cram in there 3 lrm15, max engine, tag, 3MLs and enough ammo to shoot down half the enemy team. I am constantly able to pull 700+ damage per match in that thing. And the sweetest thing, is that you can use your wole left side as a shield :huh:

I never said it was a great choice. I said it would make a good LRM escort, because ECM protects from counter-battery fire, and it can brawl. ANd it can carry a fair amount of LRMs, so it doesn't just sit there like a lump.

Not sure if these have all been mentioned, but here is my order on LRM boat builds.

Stalker 5M : 5xLRM5 + 3xERLL + TAG (5xLRM5 is more useful damage than 2xALRM20, similar to 3xALRM15)
HGN-733 : 2xALRM20 + 2xALRM15 + TAG (stay near group, JJ/Torso Twist and ignore lights, let your group kill them)
Kintaro 18 : 5xLRM5 + TAG (Very fast)
ShadowHawk 2D2 : 4xLRM5 + 2xERLL
Stalker 5M : 5xALRM15 + TAG (Just rain on them till they die, might be lots of volleys from tube size but AMS just can't do enough)
Atlas DDC : 2xALRM15 + ALRM5 + 2ERLL (ECM is OP or this would not bet this high)

I am probably missing some that are similar in play to these, all of these tend to get me 500-1000 damage rather commonly though.

NEVER underestimate the power of the LRM5 it has a tight spread so it does not need artemis, and it has a fast fire rate. Even if 2xLRM5 (31/10 seconds) gets less total missiles fired than 1xLRM20 (42/10 seconds) you get more hitting CT and about equal on RT/LT, you get less damage to the arms and legs usually but that rarely matters.

The Stormcrow might be one of the best now. 2xLRM15+A, 4xERSL, TAG, BAP, 9 tons of ammo, 107kph.

Also, vertically aimed shoulder launchers like the Mad Dog.

Warhawk B does a pretty good job as well and can mount as much as 60 aLRM (1xALRM10, 2xALRM15, 1xALRM20) clan tag and still has 13 tons to devote to ammo and backup weapons.

The best lrm boat will probably be the Kit Fox, with 2x CLRM 15, ECM, JJ and tag (with the possibility to get 2 mgs and a ml instead of the tag)

Has been mentioned, but I had some fun with the Oxide - although it gets old rather fast, especially because it has no JJ and therefore is not really worth the MC it costs. Oxide packed with SRM is also quite nasty, but you need more skills in aiming with them...
