While Mad Dog is my favorite mech design in all of battletech (and there's hundreds of different mechs), and I'm biased towards liking the Hellbringer because of a mission in Mechwarrior 2, I disagree that they should have been released before Timber Wolf and Summoner. However, if you're just saying to replace some of the less popular clan mechs like the adder I can see that. However, they kind of needed to stick with the 2/2/2/2 so people wouldn't be more biased towards certain Weight classes. Timber Wolf is the poster boy for almost every mechwarrior game, so not adding him in would be very unwise. While the Summoner does not recieve as much glory as the Timber Wolf, it's shown often enough, and is basically the poster boy for Clan Jade Falcon. It'd be nice for the Ghost bears to have the Kodiak as well, though I probably won't use one after I max out the masteries, but Kodiak doesn't seem popular outside of people who played the Mechwarrior 2 Ghost Bear Legacy. Warhawk+Dire Wolf are much more popular (especially the Dire Wolf because it was the biggest baddest thing you could use in both Mechwarrior 2 and Mechwarrior 4, and some other games).
In one of the NGNG podcasts one of the devs was surprised that Mad Dog wasn't in right away (though he probably understands why by now). So we know for sure that Mad Dog isn't going to be forgotten by them.
We'll just have to wait a bit before the Mad Dog comes in, I wouldn't be surprised if Mad Dog is the next one, then Hellbringer after that.
Mad Dog will be the mech I use all the time if it using the classic design (or something similar to it). Though it would be nice if there was a way to have both the classic mad dog, and the MW4 Mad Dog because the MW4 Mad Dog does have a few fans as well. It's basically sleek vs bulky, but when it comes to bulky mechs there's a ton of them, that's one of the many reasons why I love the Mad Dog.

Because unlike the Ebon Jaguar and the Mad Dog, the Hellbringer actually offers something new: ECM Heavy mech. Also, technically, it is a Hell Horses mech. Not saying the Ebon should not be included, however it makes sense to release it with a Second Wave pack, including mechs first seen in the second wave, as it, along with the Shadow Cat and Huntsman, were first sighted in the Battle of Luthien when Clan Nova Cat and Clan Smoke Jaguar attacked in a joint operation.
Can include: Ebon Jaguar and Huntsman, as well as introduce the 3050 mechs Arctic Cheetah and Gargoyle. One of each weight bracket, and sidesteps MASC equipped mechs. Otherwise mechs like the Firemoth, Shadowcat, and Executioner would also be high on the list.
Edit: Would also love to see the Night Gyr, as well.

I'm sure most people are expecting them to do that first anyways. I think it's just that people want Mad Dog/Hellbringer to be the first heavies they add before anything else.
I do wonder who is going to get bonuses for the Mad Dog though. Clan Smoke Jaguar designed them and use quite a bit of them. While Clan Ghost Bear seem to love the mech so much that they use it more than Clan Smoke Jaguar, and Sarna's descriptions of the Mad Dog and Ghost Bear both state that they loved to use it. Or maybe no one will get bonuses, because it's a clan general mech.... Though if that's the case, all the mechs we have now probably wouldn't get bonuses for certain factions.
I really look forward to seeing the special stuff in Community Warfare. But that,s another thread.

Light: Firemoth, Mist Lynx
Medium: Viper, Ice Ferret
Heavy: Hellbringer, Mad Dog
Assault: Gargoyle, Excecutioner
If we see a reinforcement package, it'll have these in it BEFORE it has any other omnis, as they come in at 3052 at the earliest.
The Huntsman, Shadow Cat, and Cauldron Born/Ebon Jaguar are all seen in the inner sphere by 3052, but no earlier.

Yeah, but unless they sort out MASC, Executioner and Firemoth are no bueno. Which leaves Mist Lynx, Viper, Ice Ferret, Hellbringer, Mad Dog, and Gargoyle. From the standpoint of "mechs that actually add something to the lineup," Mist Lynx provides something fast in the light category, Viper and Ice Ferret are more or less equal insofar as being fast mediums, Hellbringer brings the Heavy ECM platform, and Gargoyle... brings an 80 ton mech that is only good at running fast and looking ugly?

Probably once all the current Clan mechs are released for Cbills.
