The death talking isn't your problem, it's some individuals. Almost all issues involving individuals that piss you of in chat can be fixed with /mute /ignore.

Meanwhile, premades who use a 3rd party VOIP laugh at you and continue to feed info without restraint. And if we get access to the actual spectator mode, the laughter will be doubled. Information warfare at MWO's finest.

IF you ever played Battletech, you might remember that most 'mech pilots ripped the ejection systems out of their rides. Better dead than disposessed.

Clan pilots had less to worry about that way - though they still got in trouble for losing a mech.
Edit: which is not much help here, I know.
To make up for it - consider that by around the time the clans showed up, that was much less of an issue for the IS as well.
IE: none of the books I have read from the 3050s bring that issue up as more than a bogieman.
IE: Justin Allard loses his arm, and it gets waved around.... and then ignored when they give him a prosthetic.
One of the books a merc loses her Commando - and they give her a salvaged Locust.
Pilots lose their mechs repeatedly in the books - only to pick up another.

Fixed that for you.
I do a lot of helping new players - and preventing me from communicating with the random people I drop with (who I do not know whether I want to share a TS server with yet) would make my job with that almost impossible, thank you very much.
Edit: typo

That changed rapidly as the 3039-era revival of technology and the mass destruction of the 3050's made good pilots a premium. While it was still expensive as heck losing a ride, it wasn't the end of the world, and competition for a 'Mech slot went from "virtually impossible" to "tough competition". For that matter, the humble CASE system may well be another reason- pilot injuries from ammo explosions/Gauss explosion feedback cashiering a pilot still happened, but the 'Mech itself wasn't reduced to confetti and salvage rates increased considerably. Ditto the XL engine- again, due to fewer 'Mechs being destroyed by CT damage (which rendered them impossible to salvage), more 'Mechs actually fell in fights from side torso damage disabling engines, but were repairable. (No, engine crits are not explosive). In addition, production shot through the roof due to the ability to finally repair or rebuild facilities long shuttered due to lostech issues.

I wish you didn't clog up this forum with your asinine suggestions. But hey, I don't get what I want either. Welcome to the real world.
The devs have a lot more useful stuff to spend their time on. Like cockpit glass, motion blur, 3PV...

You died in the first minute of the match. It's embarassing and it happens to us all once in a while. Like sharting or backing into a fire hydrant.
Thank you for talking! Talk, talk, talkie, talkie. Blah, blah blah. I'm so glad the dead master strategist is there to help me with my game. It doesn't throw me off at all. You know that a win will net you more XP and CBills, and you want to make sure I'm doing my best, like a crazed parent at a little league game.
Sincerely,
The Living
Seriously, do we have to see the dead people's comments? I don't care if they talk among themselves, but it's distracting and never helpful.
you let him die, so your comrade is now haunting you.

The obvious thing to do in that situation would be to retreat and take the point win, which was repeatedly pointed out by about half of our dead players including myself. Take one guess what the two players did instead, first one doesn't count.
To elaborate, one got into a fight with about five enemy mechs, the other picked a fight with a streaktaro. We were ten seconds from victory when both of them predictably died. I should add that I personally killed the last enemy light, so they could have escaped at any time.
My point is, don't just ignore the advice of your teammates, especially not the ones who actually bother to stick around after their death, they want to win just as much as you do. ( Probably more so in this particular case. )

I like what you said there. Oh,and #*(&$%ng awesome signature.
Hey PGI, how about a toggle to shut off General, Team and Lance chat? You know so that those that want, have. And those that dont want, dont have.
Or something like that.

I'm sitting there blazing away...and a Boomjager hits me in the back with twin AC/20's. Dead right there, one shot, ammo explosion.
Me in (Lance): Boomjager, behind the team.
Flamer (pubic): You're dead wamd (sic) LOL suck it!
Boomjager has killed Flamer.
Me (public): Now you're dead too.
Flamer: (random obscenities)
Ironically, he also had zero damage at that point to my whopping 50 or so (I got all of two shots off), and the Jager proceeded to get 5 kills as everyone else apparently went chat-blind as he first backshot the entire lance to death before trotting off to help clean up the rest.
This, on the other hand is "dead man" teamwork.
