Bye bye ZenTeapot, you are leaving mwo. Good luck in real life where sadly we wont see any battletech game ever if mwo will die too soon. Nobody will investing this title after bad end.

Do not get me wrong. I wish to see MWO live and proper, but PGI needs to take players seriously and look straight at their mistakes.

The game would be for me if they fix the UI or even revert back to 1.5 usability. 2.0 is when they crossed the line. I do not think as game developers they could brush stuff off simply by saying the game isn't for you.

It seriously takes like a minute to set up a mech if you know what you want. Use smurfy/Li Song, plan your build out ahead of time, and rip it out. I spend as little time as possible in the mechlab, thanks to Li Song. (And I do it because I agree: its a horrible interface that could stand to be re-written. But to claim it as unworkable is flawed in the extreme.)

Exactly what you describe. You would go the length to use an external mechlab. This is the point I think it's too much to ask for a common player. This pain configuring mechlab wears on people, and it accumulates and becomes too much after a while.

I have no idea someone so tolerant of terrible game UI could not understand that not everybody's like you.

If you really want to light a fire under their butt and put the fear of God in them you need to direct the emails to L. Ross Babcock at FASA it is his baby that they are dragging down.

What exactly is it about the UI that makes the game unplayable? What bugs are you experiencing? The worst I've ever heard of was when a friend couldn't get his mech to save properly and was putting more energy weapons on his mech than he had hardpoints for. Wouldn't let him launch. Other than that, I haven't heard of any bug that prevents people from playing the game. It's more a matter of annoyance and inconvenience than anything.

If they know but do not act to change it or even make any promises, I think it's time to just leave this game. I'd like more people to do this with me so PGI could learn that they cannot just take player's money without delivering something good. The alternative should be a refund.

It's more complicated than that.

UI2.0 is functional now.

It's horrible, it's trash, it's an embarrassment to all of them................but it's functional.

What is not functional

Clan mechs
Clan weapons
Clan designs
Community warfare
Better matchmaking options
3/3/3/3
HSR improvements.

So what do you propose they stop working on to come back to UI 2.0?

UI 2.0 sucks, but it works

The can always come back to fix it. And I imagine they will do just that but right now they are trying to keep their word on the other features.

Will they end up keeping it? (Probably not, as XXXX happens in game development and things get delayed, unexpected problems occur - See 3/3/3/3 - and stuff doesn't work out the way they planned)

But they sure as hell are going to try and keep their word.

UI 2.0 is rubbish and should be burned and never thought of again....but I can live with it for now until they get the time to come back and fix it. This isn't a "Want" issue it's a prioritizing ER Triage for game development.

Let me try to understand this..... You feel the UI is too-hard-basket, and are convinced the entire player base shares your own opinion thanks to a thread-naught filled by probably the same usual few whiny suspects, and your solution to your inability to learn an interface that's been around for more than a little while now is to attempt to incite others to flood the powers that be at PGI with spam on their twitter feeds. Uh huh.

How is this going to help you?

If your nose really is that out of joint, why have you kept dropping money on the game?

Rarely has a thread on the MWO forums made me more mad than this one. The amount of condescending bullshit in this thread is incredible and has convinced me that the people "whining" about MWO is far from alone in contributing to the "toxic" atmosphere everyone is bitching about. All of you talking down on OP like he is some kind of ****** are the ones being toxic here. SOME people in this thread seem incapable of admitting that UI 2.0 has problematic aspects, and resort to being little ******* instead.

Umm didn't FASA sell rights to MS, which is leasing them to PGIGP?

I just wonder if PGI is more incompetent or corrupt. Not having any idea what is going on over at the company and just the snippets of the employees personalities that comes through the forums ... I go back and forth. Sometimes I just think that the guys over at PGI cant program to save their lives. Sometimes I think that they are just grabbing as much cash as possible before everyone realizes it.

More than likely it is a war of IGP "corruption" and PGI's incompetence. IGP wants their money and is putting pressure to get their cash. PGI is forced to steal assets from whatever they were suppose to be doing to implement the cash grab. This putting PGI further and further behind schedule.

I like playing Mechwarrior. I read the books, played the computer games and played the Virtual World pods. I still havent surpassed the money I spent on the pods in MWO. However, the pods were more simulator than MWO ever will be. I like blowing parts off of mechs, especially the noobs that are left playing the game right now. I have supported this game as much as I care to. I made a new computer, bought my packages and got let down by the abysmal performance of PGI.

I dont think anything is going to improve until IGP lets PGI put out CW.

I personally think you are on the money here, it has been admitted that many of the decisions that have sat unfavourably were made/pressured into existence by the publisher, and produced by an inexperienced team.

I do agree UI 2.0 is far more cumbersome than it needs to be, and that it needs to be streamlined quite a bit. Personally I take it on faith that PGI aren't pissing in our collective pockets when they say a smurfy-style mechlab is on the way. The question is when.

That said, what we have now DOES do what it says on the tin, and is far from 'game breaking', even if it is akin to steering an elephant on roller skates through a skid pan.

Exactly

There are much better topics to rage about - but currently none of those topics need a fix (ok maybe the MM)

But deal with it.

Definitely incompetence. I dont believe for a second theyre corrupt. If you go back and watch some of the early dev videos for MWO I think they genuinely want to make the best mechwarrior title to date. They just dont seem to have the expertise or manpower to make that a reality.

You sure are... but voicing your opinion doesnt include the fact that people will/must agree with you. And anyone replying to you in any form also falls under the same deffinition of freedom of speech. reflect on that and maybe you will recognize why some users are going al extremist on you if you yourself are starting the extremist line yourself by refusing to learn/adapt/read information on what you are complaingin about and when you write, you go to extremes like broken game, unplayable, catastrophic... how do you think people will react otherwise?
