the theme im seeing is that the medium laser is a good choice, is this just good for light/fast mechs? im planning on going with a heavy mech, so what about the Gauss rifle?

Gauss Rifle is one of my all time favorites. Hey I miss the Gunslinger, probably one of few that do. To quote:

Everything has merit in situational play. with their own pros and cons. you dont have to use font size for victory either its situational too.
