They certain can. However, their healing is set to a negative value, so it ends up just killing people.

It takes way too long to play a game. I don't care what mechs are in it I just want to be able to play in a timely manner. We do have freedom of choice on mechs, right? so why bother with this?

I am very glad that they are adding a semblance of sanity to how the mechs are chosen. Definitely needed 3/3/3/3 or some form of it for a long time. Good job devs on identifying something that really NEEDED to be changed.

I am not sure what it means but I was getting 10-15min waits going as a light. I was only picking skirmish/conquest though so I wonder how much they effects the MM. Also had a match with 7 lights on our team so not sure what the rules really are now.

Does PGI actually test this stuff large scale before pushing it live?
Second time 3/3/3/3 has tried to go live and second time it's fallen on it's face.

3rd time is the charm I guess?

2/5/3/2 makes hell of a lot more sense than 3/3/3/3.

The lights and assaults should comprise the least mechs in total, and the medium and heavy mech composition should be higher.

sanity? the only thing that stupid system is going to do is chase even more players away from this game. most people will play with the mechs they want to use, not the mechs pgi tell them to use, especially when they charge up to $55 for one stupid hero mech.

I got two matches in an hour, queuing in a Blackjack. My Elo is probably fairly low, since I have a 63:52 W:L record after the stat reset. (Which is probably about the same ratio as before the stat reset.)

<edit>And my client locked up when I tried to exit the game. Insult to injury...</edit>

Haven't heard a single good argument yet as to why 3/3/3/3 is a bad thing.

Your argument that "mechs are expensive" (which they are) "so 3/3/3/3 is bad" isn't really swaying me.

i like mediums but am forced to play higher tonned mechs, or abuse something to prey on assault mechs and other heavies.

i dont like handicapping my team when i'm in a medium and the other team has 8 assaults 3 heavies and a raven.

with that said however, they should add tonnage limit on top of 3/3/3 or 44/4/4 or whatever, and the tonnage limit should vary based on map and game mode. this would work in tandem with hard caps to create a somewhat random team without having one team grossly overweighting the other.

better yet, if they just add the competitive play tonnage limits and allow matchmaker to fiddle around with teams to meet the limit, even if one team has one or two less mechs.
