Perhaps it's some issue with your browser - check the AdBlock & NoScript (or equivalent add-on(s)) settings, or try clearing the cache? B)

It is just loading painfully slow.

Could be my browser - but that hasn't been giving me any trouble with (most) other PDF sites.

Just the Mechwarrior related ones. (well... the various pokemon wikis as well - but that, I am fairly sure, would be for other reasons)

Shh! I wanna get people riled up! You and your logic don't belong here.

Anyway. I know from the potential parts that some mechs can get more than 6 ballistic hardpoints with the right mixing and matching.
So I can't wait to try and make an 8 machine gun array Battlemech. o.O; (2.5 tons each, 5 MGs in an array... MWHAHAHA! That's 40 MGs! O_O! somehow doubt it'd fit into the mech, but man c'mon lemme have my fantasy). At least that's how I remembered MG arrays, but Sarna's entry seems...kinda 'hand crafted'.

No ECM, and no Ultra AC20 variants? Sad day indeed.

No MG arrays in sight

meanwhile the one mech I am anxious for (and very aware is not happening)

They way those worthless freebirths pitched UAC20s doing damage, I cannot say I am overly broken up over it.

At least the UAC/20s are closer to lore.
The Inner Sphere Autocannons are not. What we have are glorified Rifles.
In MWO, we have no Autocannons. B)

Many variants look very good, and with the ability to swap limbs/torso's in reality we only have to field the 'best' build with 3 different centers to master them....it definitely makes you think differently to min/max them. For those worrying about our lack of ECM, hopefully we'll have the Kit Fox 'C' right arm available (at least until they release the hellbringer).

The Summoner D will make a nice poptart (as well as the Timber Wolf 'S') - should be interesting to see which one is more popular. For those worrying about how our mechs will stack up (especially how badly our weapons will be nerfed) keep in mind our mechs will be very fast and very nimble by MWO standards (excepting our current lights atm) and speed does make a significant difference in this game.... 25 days but who's counting B)

Speed makes a difference, but is it enough to overcome a loss of an effective 35% of our usable weapon space? (Taking into account lighter weapons) We need to find out. Part of me feels like that given the state of customized IS mechs in this game, unless they keep the damage advantage of ERPPC, ERLLas, ERMLas, and ERSLas (and the other, pulse, lasers) we could be in trouble.

Only one way to find out, and that is to use them in a live environment for a month or two.

I paid $240 to help PGI collect metrics on Clan mechs and hopefully balance them. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but we shall see.

Thanks. It would be nice if PGI did this on the forum where their players are than on reddit but at least they mentioned that it was happening this time.

Will take the Night Gyr as a temporary replacement. That mech is scary!

But can it PLEASE glow in the dark?

Please?

I do not much care for the idea of all-missile armaments.

Nor do I like the utter lack of ECM units that the Clans will be subjected to.

Even if PGI did not find something useful to replace the A-pods on the Kit Fox C configuration and left us dead mass we would at least have had one useful ECM escort.

If I am not mistaken, they won't add the C variant to the stable. However, adding the C arm is a good possibility. They mentioned that many variants will never be added because there is little difference in hardpoints between them, and the ones that will be in the stable. However, whichever parts unique to them (such as the C ECM arm) will be available for purchase as their own pods. Even if we don't get the whole chassis, we'll get the pods that make a difference.

...and this way, you mate the ECM arm of the C to the S, and end up with a jump capable, ECM sporting, SSRM bracing, potentially ERPPC blasting nightmare of a light mech. Considering the S was off most people's radar, I call that a potential win right there!

Shhhhhhhhh! Don't tell people about that!

In all honesty though. I hope we do get the C arm very soon, as that would be one of my favorite set ups to run.

Effectively, we are not fighting 3050 mechs, with the customization available to them, fighting freebirth mechs is like fighting star league era mechs, period. Denying us that customization is fine as long as we have our weapons to counter them. Balancing our weapons (i.e. nerfing them) really hurts this game in the long term. Within the next 10 battletech years (which PGI can make happen tomorrow), freebirth weapons will close the gap to ours. However unless they then decide to return our weapons to full capability, PGI will have no choice but to nerf new freebirth weapons below ours (since their mechs can be customized far more than ours). By traveling down this path PGI has "painted themselves in a corner" in that all future weapons will need to be nerfed to 3050 levels to keep the game "balanced", or they will have to change ALL weapons to meet later standards - either way they are creating significantly more work for themselves than was needed....

I too paid 240$ to be a PGI test platform (though the added premium days and the extra mech bays are nice no matter what happens). I actually believe PGI will work hard to balance clan mechs as they are going to be a significant source of income for them (just look at how many more clan mechs they are planning on releasing as opposed to freebirth mechs).

You can just put UAC20 on anything with 12 tons to spare and a ballistic slot.

Timberwolf Ssssssssssssssss hm? I honestly dont thing it a new superior jumpsniper in bound. But seeing how efficient can a JJting mech with Lurms be... I can't... i must resist...

Any news about when will (if ever) invisible walls be finally fixed? Cos that is the last obsticle which forces me to not buy any of the clan packages
