What Do You Respect?
#1

The focus is on what is respectable, not what isn't respectable. If you get into the 'what isn't' part you'll just make people defensive and waste valuable electrons on the interwebz with bickering posts.
This is about what you respect. You, personally. Not anyone else, not what you think other people should think, just you.
PUGGING:
What builds do you respect to see played well?
What behavior in teammates do you see that you find respectable?
What behavior do you see in the other team that you find respectable?
PRIVATE MATCHES/12MANS:
What builds do you respect to see played well?
What behaviors in teammates do you see that you find respectable?
What behavior do you see in the other team that you find respectable?
FINAL BONUS QUESTION:
If you don't do all of this stuff every match you can.... why not?

Too many ecm lights run off to Rambo instead of actively covering the slower teammates when they are moving across open fields to try to get to cover.

A well played ECM mech is as good as gold. Every time I do a spot check of the field, I always keep an eye out for the nearest cover or ECM just in case. If I stop, I make sure my legs are facing in the direction of the nearest one in case I need to move fast.
What i respect? Team players, you know, the ones who recognize when someone needs a hand with a pestering light or spies the Jager popping out of the bushes and provides cover fire. I can't count the amount of times when I'll be around 3-4 team mates and have a 2 lights fluttering around me and they don't even stop firing their LRM's while my black smoke starts to rise. If i see a light on a Heavy/Assault, unless there is an Atlas or Banshee barreling down on me, the wolfpack becomes priority.

I disrespect anybody that tells someone they have a stupid build.

I respect anyone who uses their ECM light to cover the main force instead of going off on their own, especially when they have the only ECM on the team.
Most of all, I respect the premade teams that fight ONLY other premade teams (whether in private matches or 12-mans) instead of farming disorganized PUGs for easy wins, easy kills, easy cbills and easy XPs.

Poptarting me with PPCs and AC5's when I'm not looking doesn't impress me, but I fully respect anyone that out does me in what I am attempting to do myself.

I respect experienced players who follow pugs and help support them.
I'll echo this one. You want to lead, lead by example. I never got better because someone trashtalked or acted like an entitled weenie. I got better because someone I found worthy of respect and emulation did something I wanted to emulate.

1. Treat other players with respect at all times.
2. Run whatever build you like and respect other players that run the builds they like...even if it's considered "cheese."
3. Do not ridicule or shame other players for playing in a way that you deem "poorly."
4. Do not Team Kill or harass teammates by intentionally shooting them. Ever.
5. Always try to communicate important info to your teammates as often as you can.
6. When joining a lobby in TS, don't start chatting up a storm while the other players are still in-game. It's rude and distracting.
7. And most important; don't be jerk...be friendly.
I follow these guidelines whenever possible and I respect other players that do as well.

Oh great this guy. Narrow minded people are not on my list of 'respected', all play types and builds are legit and to be respected when done/used well, stop crying about builds/playstyles you don't approve of already.

Builds: I respect anyone that does not bring the best of the best builds into games. People who use all flamers on hunchies/jenners, etc get instant brownie points in my book. It's hilarious to see even if it means my team loses. I like it when people do not care if they lose.
I also respect people who do very well with builds that are not the meta.
It always makes me happy to see allies working together, or attempting to. Successful or not.
Just people talking in general makes me respect them unless they are trashtalking. Of course, if they manage to keep the trashtalking silly and lighthearted it can be fun to listen to.
I respect anyone willing to do something out of the norm. It makes me extremely happy when I'm able to ask for a 1v1 duel between 2 people, and both teams agree to said duel and do not interfere, even if those situations are incredibly rare because pugging.
I have no opinion about 12 mans/private matches. It's just another mode for people to mess around in.
