Given as hideous as the Dire Wolf model is, I've been trying to see if maybe they accidentally stretched the artwork, or otherwise failed at photoshop. I know this is grasping at straws, but maybe we can make a bit of sense out of this?

Exhibit A: Dire Wolf is shrunk vertically. This brings the legs and center torso more inline with the concept art, but still doesn't look good. I would say more acceptable, but still not quite what we want.

Exhibit B: The Dire Wolf is shrunk horizontally. This gives it the height typically seen in canon, but doesn't help with the nose or double chin. It also decreases the horizontal profile, but makes it very vulnerable in low cover, as it can be shot, but cannot shoot back.

Exhibit C: The suggestion that they used a fish eye effect on it that slightly distorted it's features is examined. After much deliberation, I'm confident that this is not the issue at hand.

Please go look in the Media section, new screenshots of the direwolf in there with much better perspective IMO.

Indeed, while the torso still looks too egg-shaped for me, it looks FAR better than the image.

I did. Having a different colorscheme helps, but it looks the same. It's just like the timberwolf. As it turns towards you, the ugly factor rises.

I'd say it has too short nose with his height and width. They should either shrink those parameters or make it a bit longer.

Unfortunately I'm not versed enough in photoshop-fu to show it ;)

The new screenshots are much nicer! The CT/cockpit of the Dire Wolf is supposed to be like an upside down egg shape, with a gun pod below it for CT-mounted weapons in some configurations.

Yeah, the Clan 'Mechs tend to do that.

The front of the Mad Cat, for example, is rather obviously based on that of the B-29... :)

Unique module for Direwolf, gets an attack copter with 2 ER medium lasers to launch
