How many other players is there out there? It is always fun getting a gamemaster and starting a small merc corp!? 4 players is a good number, the more is harder due to having to be online all at the same time!

I just started playing MechWars yesterday (The Shack thing). Learning as I go. I played MegaMek in its early days, but everything is different now. Enjoying it thus far.

SJ plays a lot of megamek, we've had 20+ people campaigns going and they are awesome.

I would like to get back into Megamek, but I have to admit that I am really rusty with all the advanced rules bells and whistles.

There's not much to it, you'll see the effects of TacOps for instance ingame, just download the latest Megamek release and play a bit against the bot.

Like Maus said, we at SJ pretty much all enjoy a game of MegaMek, and have had some good campaigns.

Brand new to it, played a match with the Jags... hoping to find a campaign at some point. One that includes the Mechwarrior RPG would be even better.

I still have all my old tabletop stuff but my question is how the heck you play online?

Megamek is a computer version of the TT, it is updated on a regular basis. Very fun, and there are leagues that are fully automated etc. Lots of stuff that takes time in the TT is handled with just a click and is fully automated as well.

I've played a bit of MegaMek. I couldn't figure out how to get it to connect to other users though, so I've just done the built in scenarios.

This is a good place to start, I think, as its where I did. Some really helpful people on the site.

I was also shown this thread, which offers a bit of information on the strategic side of things:

I've sank many hours into games against the bot. Megamek kept my interest in the TT alive when I couldn't find anyone to play against (since not many people I know have disposable income, much less time.)
