What is deemed as a decent damage number to get in game?

I seem to get 250-350 mostly, occasionally getting 400+....seems im slacking a fair bit.

I have gotten a good number of assists my 3 with the Clans but still feel im slacking heavily lol....

And dayum my FPS in this game sucks as well...once the shooting starts, my FPS goes to like 20 lol.....

KD/ratio means nothing without WL ratio . NOTHING ! . I am suspicious about high KD ratios . I can stay in a assault in the back and after the battle is over in one way and another i can pick at the damaged remaining mechs .If we win i don't lose my life and have a chance to kill one or more remaining ennemyes . If we lose i have GREAT chances to take at least one of the foes with me . So great k/d ratio , bad bad team asset . Not mentioning that doing this your elo is artificially deflated so you will get easyer oponents than if you are playing with team interest in mind .I'm speaking about pure pug experience , teams tend to deform things massively . I have about 1.2 in both and drive dps'ers - Ilia and 3e lately . I die alot but i tend to take a fresh one with me .

I wouldn't know about K/D but I have a very high win rate of 26% per game.

Since I started using my Warhawk mine is 3.33

but that doesnt mean much if I'm not winning lol

Damage, like K/D is at best, unreliable.

LRM tend to cause Massive! damage scores - by hitting parts that need not damaged.
(IE stripping half the armor off an Atlas's legs while doing very little to the already open CT type situations - if an extreme example)

IE: An Atlas has ~900 total health on the chassis - counting all armor and internals.
It can be killed in ~200.

ALL mechs can be taken out in ~30 damage (headshots)

Would you rather have the guy on your team with 1k damage off one Atlas, or the guy who took out the Atlas in 30-200 damage?

KDR and damage are the most over rated numbers there are... You can take down an atlas with a single shot if armor is gone... Or kill a couple mechs with rear shots with 50 damage total..

you can have 400 damage on a single mech and it can still live...

It's where you shoot that matters.. 10 assists and 300 da,age with a team win is better than 4 kills and 700 damage in a loss any day...

And yet there are exceptions to even that.

That 300 damage may have been on their torsos - when the kills were purely through legs.

But then again - as you said, it is where you shoot that matters. :blink:

Where do we find the total health of a mech as you posted here? Add the entire armor together+internals? Internals are half the max amount of armor?

I would rather have the guy who can shoot the Atlas dead pretty quick.

As for LRMs doing massive damage, I took the Trial catapult for a spin and got a whole, whopping, down right staggering amount to the total of 99 at the end of the match...Did alot of firing those missiles, but didnt do much in the way of the rockets hitting. I ended with 1 kill, 2 assists and a win.

Actually making good use of LRM is tricky at best - I can offer some advice on their use, but not much.
Edit: there is a reason people laugh at the idea of them being overpowered - and a reason people still hold them up as such.

As for their total health - Internals are 1/2 max armor potential
For finding their total health - that is based on their weight class (all 60 ton mechs have the same potential armor, all 50 ton mechs the same, and so on)
Smurfy is of great use that way - though the "armor" stat in the game does the same. (then add 50% for the internal structure)

In other words - visit Smurfy - select an Atlas (for example) go to tools and hit max armor - then add 50% to that

Well honestly there is something to be said for dealing 500-1000 damage... and getting 10 assists.. and letting everyone else reap the rewards.. :)

OMFG, what are the chances to be always stuck on the team that gets absolutely ******* curb stomped 12-2 in less then 2 minutes?

Gotta say, above all, that is whats draining the fun out of this game quicker then ****.

Losing? one thing.....dying? cool sometimes.

BUt every....single...*******....game.....good lord. What does the game have against putting me on teams that atleast make a battle out of it....or, heaven goddamn forbid, WIN...
