The catches are... I only have about 30" between me and the TV. Despite visible pixels, it's still fun and immersive. I've been doing it for about 1.5 months, mainly because it's fun. I've noticed my accuracy dropped way off and there's noticeable input lag. I turned on game mode on the TV and it helped a bit, but there's still perceptible input lag. It's caused my performance to drop a bit, but my fun to skyrocket! Does anyone have any further suggestions for toning down the input lag? I'm pretty sure this is just par for the course, but figured it worth asking. I'll eventually migrate back to my monitor... but WOW is it immersive. I set my FOV to 90 degrees, and having to turn my head to look to the sides really adds fun.
Sidebar - the massive heat radiating from the TV adds to the immersion lol
System specs
Intel Core i7 3770k liquid cooled delidded at 4.9ghz
32gb ddr3
3 x HiS Radeon 7950 boost cards in crossfirex (tried with/without crossfire, made no difference to lag)
Windows 8 Pro (tested win 7 pro as well, same lag)
AMD catalyst 14.3? I think. Whatever's current as of *today*.
TV connected to hdmi1 via... hdmi (tested with a different TV with DVI - less lag, but it was a different TV.)
This isn't game-breaking, I don't *need* a solution, but if anyone had any input on the subject I'd be glad to hear it
