It doesn't need 4 instance of CWs, it is all down to software design to make the features available, just like they are doing to the clans where clan weapons are not available to Inner Sphere players. What they can do is make visible or invisible of techs and mechs available for certain eras. For example, having Era saved configurations, like Mech using 3025 config can be used in 3145, however vice versa 3145 configuration is hidden in 3025, this can apply to variants or technology.
For example, mech like Wulfren is available in 3145, but in 3025, this mech is not available for use.
If they can restrict clan weapons from inner sphere faction from using it, what is stopping them from implementing these features?
Hiding the tech will still restrict queues, everything will still be divided into 4 chunks. Not to mention that if I want to play 3025 tech, with your suggestion, I'm still on the same map as the 3068 guys, and regardless of which worlds I helped conquer with my trusty trenchbucket, they'll end up being undone by players from the other queues, since your implementation means it's one CW with 4 tech paths.

You do realize LRMs are at their most balanced right now, right? They don't actually need to modify LRMs that much, they are perfect right now.

These delays were their own creations, it wouldn't had happen if they had gotten the tweak correctly before, or have some clever marketing ploy instead of cash cow exploitation, like extend range by spending GXP and etc.. which we don't need. OR that charging the Gauss rifle before firing, which the rifle could be charge already in between firing, which lead to its lack of used in the game. A complete waste of time and lead to frustrations.
video in spoiler
As for the new weapons bit: Aside from MASC (which is breaking the game right now), what other new technologies did you want? Stealth armor? We already have so many players whining about ECM and how it's OP (it isn't). Imagine what would happen if we got stealth armor.
We also stuck with the timeline since CW can't start properly if we're in 3090. So delays happened, the game has moved on, and now we're moving forward.
Also, pray tell, what would these "marketing ploys" and strategies you would suggest to accelerate the development of a game, that rightfully needs 100 devs, and is being developed by less than half that, would be?

They never said the 1:1 timeline is going to last through the 15 years of near piece after Tukayyid, did they? Of course I expect jumps to happen, to skip the boring parts. You do understand that they can do that right? After all, you are posting in the thread where they re-wound back a full year.

when you are surrounded by light mechs and you have to aim and fire at one immediately, that 1 second delay is the difference between hitting it and winning the game to dying and watch helplessly for 5 mins till the match finish, perhaps you wouldn't be so positive.

A few ideas they could have explored, prototype systems.. you can purchase with MC and then use it for a few times? Like Single slot liquid metal double heat sinks?
New weapons like MRMs, or Plasma rifles. Small cockpits, Laser Reflective armor?

Well the Beagle Active probe is not fully utilized it it? If there are stealth armor then Bloodhound probe.
Beagle should have the jammed ECM feature like ECM does.. but no..

Massive battle 24 mechs at a time...
Hence why I went with Event instead of battle. As much as I would love to see huge battles with more than a company per side, I know tech wise it is not probable anytime in the next few years.
Now, for what an event could look like, picture this:
-Planetary map laid out for a weekend's worth of conflict
-For a set period of time (maybe 1 hour or 2 hour increments) each game mode would be fought over a single objective
-Each objective would be fought upon one map (ie. Alpine for assault / Frozen City for conquest / Frozen Forest for skirmish)
-At the end of the time period, the combined stats of the battles fought would determine which way the main map would evolve
-Over the course of the weekend, the ebb and flow of the battle would be visualized via the main map
One way this would change up the usual general queue drops is by making map selection known before dropping. For an hour or two, the maps available will play differently as everyone brings mechs optimized for the map.

But perhaps you can make it show here as well, which is still 3051:

Very few engagements involved more than 24 mechs at a time. Sure, you had hundreds and thousands of mechs engaging across the entire planet, with some units disengaging or defeating their current opponent before engaging a different one, but all of that is happening currently in MWO, with each match being one of those engagements.
Thousands of matches are handled every day, so if you handled it like Dracol detailed above, where the maps for a particular planet (in this case Tukayyid) are fixed for a certain time period and slowly evolve a world map one way or the other, it would make for a very entertaining event.

Yes, Gauss is bad up close, but it offers things to snipers that nothing else offers anymore. As much as I don't like actually using the charge up mechanic (I wish it could hold a charge longer) it did achieve exactly what they wanted to achieve - making the Gauss Rifle a premiere long range weapon that's much less effective in a knife fight. Gauss used to be a excellent brawling weapon too, which was just silly.

Q.Q
Beagle DOES counter ECM, incidentally.
But the other stuff? Sure, it'd be neat. But you can always say that. Everyone wants new toys. But adding all that stuff just increases the amount of balancing work that needs to be done, so the very limited Dev team spends even less time working on critical systems like Community Warfare. You don't get to just add stuff to the game for free. There's both an up front development cost and increased maintenance costs.
It would be cool, but honestly I'm happy with them sticking with things as they are, because they're staying at a particular point in time (Iraqiwalker makes great points as to why) and that limits the equipment available.
Anyways, in two weeks, we'll see a whole wagonload of new equipment - all the clan weapons are different from IS weapons, after all - so be happy with that.

Just let us know exactly when we all need to recant from the Necronomicon to begin the time reversal process.

Thanks for a Great Game that just keeps getting better... many folks lose the forest for all the individual trees they've hugged, cared for, clamored over and invested their hearts and souls into. Simply put, MWO has a very pleasing "The Plan" and I am enjoying the ride!

Wagon load of new things.. yes.. but think of things this way. Clan ERLasers... = more heat. Ultra-autocannons = More Jamming LBX weapons.. unless it is slug rounds.,. it is pretty much close range. LRMs and SSRMs. They are the stars.. if you are a missleboat.. so we go back to the old days where a match is raining missiles and AMS does a crap job at protecting us.
And then Gauss... pfff.. sniper weapons again. ERPPC.. hey... not enough heat sinks.
Now.. when the Heavy lasers and ATM comes out... I have no bone to pick..
