As via Twitter, Russ wanted to know the community thoughts. I figured I would start this poll and make it a little easier for him to see that, a large majority of the community, be you a fan of the Clans, IS Houses or a Merc corp are not happy with the 'new' style of the Clan logos.

The fans of the Clans Faction are just wanting the same treatment the Inner Sphere House logos got when PGI launched MWO and allowed us to pick a faction. This is what I have gathered from reading the threads, and I am also biased as it is my thought as well.

Please PGI, take my suggestion to heart. I, and many of the Clan players have purchased Clan packs, with a large portion buying the Warhawk packs. We may not be the Target audience of the game, but will a 100% new player to MWO & MW/BT know the difference between a logo? Keep your loyal fanbase happy.

I will be honest. I will not be happy piloting my Clan Chassis and seeing this ugly logo. I will not feel I am representing Clan Ghost Bear, but Clan sneezing bear, or drunk bear, or neckbeard cat bear..

'We' have spoken, Russ has listened and they are giving the designs a 'mild refresh' vs a 'hard reworking'. They will then let us vote.

I look forward to their refresh and flying a ghost bear banner I am proud to wear!

I share your pain, and the new logos are an abomination. They should seriously reconsider redesigning them closer to the originals.

Because there is a portion of the game community made of BattleTech fans who are passionated and dedicated to the franchise as a whole more than to the game and we do care about little things like immersion in this great universe. Thus, we want a proper banner for our favourite faction. It is not that strange, quineg?

I think CJF insignia is only tolerable yet it have major flaw - you can't see the sword, state symbols should not just disappear.

Good insignia is what people would proud to carry in to battle. I would be ashamed to step out with current ones, specially with Clan Wolf insignia, that wolf is kinda insane to me. My apologies to Clan Wolf...

I would have to see what someone would have to offer as a comparison.

The current forum and ingame art versus what you want it to look like. How it would translate scaled down to the game in correct format?

Sure he did....or, rather, he made all the appropriate noises and gestures to make you believe he actually cares. Good luck with the crusade. Just be happy they didn't use a lot of pink and orange in the logos.

Thanks for the Vote Coffinail.

The Clan Logos are not in line with the style of the House logos. If they need a refresh, than in the same way like the House logos.

I can't believe 4 people voted that they like the CGB logo. It looks more like a seal than a bear. That is the only one that needs a fixing in my opinion.

don't get me wrong I am happy to finally show my colors, but they look to cartoony ... maybe because I am used to the old Banner, as long as its Clan Ghost Bear and I can tell its Clan Ghost bear is all that matters in the end, but yes please make them like the old loges please

Any poll is going to be biased by old Battletech diehards until we get community warfare and people less invested in the dust of the past have a reason to pick a faction, thus there should only be any changes proposed when community warfare is in and the opinions of the entire community can be gathered.

I am not overly fond of Jaguar, and I really dislike the "Surprised Wolf". Falcon is an improvement, and the Bear looks fine. All in all, I could live with them as they are. Its just a logo.

I personally don't get why people are hating so much on this thread. It's fine if people would like to vote on using old insignia. And it's not like it's "LOL nostalgia freaks" it's simply that people think the old art looked better. What's wrong with that ?

BTW:
I'd love it if you added the option to have both the new and old insignia so people could choose which they would like to use.

There should be one more option next to "Make them closer to the originals" and that is "take the originals"

Ok, this is a problem, because its not just a logo, but the re-designs of the logo also have been propagated into things like the medalions, the holograms, etc. (which all carry the PGI versions of the logo in, not the "original" ones.)

So basically, by saying that you are ok with these logos for faction icons, you are also signalling that they are "a-ok" for holograms and cockpit items.

I'll tell you this right now, I'm not buying any cockpit items with this logo on it. But I sure as heck would buy a bunch of Medallions with the PROPER clan logo's on them.

my small hints:

For all:
remove the darkness at the lower end.
center them more

The Jade falcon:

correct the legs, the left of the Falcon is off.
correct the wings, it actually looks more like a tropical bird with these feathers than a falvon. needs sharp edges
more green less yellow, you know a bit jade



The Jaguar:
looks nice so far, make it smoke color, its not a panther

The Bears: make the neck a bit more slim and not so fat. Make the head also more white and less blue, its getting a too icy touch with that bluish tint.
The rest is quite nice, having 4 claws is making it look correct, which looks indeed bettter than the original.

The Wolfs: Well, its not that bad, but its lacking contrast. the Wolf has a too close red to the flags red behind it. And the hollowed stars add even more red to that flag. This totally screws over the visual contrast and catches the focus too much on the eyes and the teeth.

Actually the old one is the surprized wolf (You can just picture that old wolf in a constant state of asking "WTF?"). The new one is the "Just smelt a bad fart Wolf".
